Fun fact: high heels were originally made for men! The Persian calvery wore a boot with a heel as they were riding horseback as it helped secure their feet to the Stirrups of a horse. Cowboy boots are an example of modernisation. Also Jordan just seems really sad by how deep he's fallen into the incel ideology. Like he's trying to build an argument against women having any control over their reproductive system or choice of partner. It makes no sense. If only he focused on his own happiness instead of dictating women's happiness based on his ridiculous views he may actually find some happiness for himself. Clearly he feels shame after he has a night in with his hand. And For someone who says "what does that mean, we don't know" so much, if he doesn't understand the data, he shouldn't speak on it. Also perhaps he should actually have a conversation where he listens to a "female" person/s about their bodies to broaden his very misogynistic views on what women should and should be allowed to do. As if he should have a say to begin with.
@merasi1

The reason why men stopped wearing heels was because of Men Flight. This is the same reason why cheerleading was a mens’ sport until women started becoming cheerleaders. Then the men dipped because the sport was being seen as feminine/low quality etc.

So inequality in terms of the number of sexual partners an individual has destabilizes society, is bad for children, and needs to be corrected, but massive wealth gaps and inequality in economic and educational opportunity doesn't???
@darrenfleming7901

I do agree with some part of that argument though. The idea that someone or something could "distribute sex" is fucked up and definitely only appealing to incels, but I still think we are collectively making ourselves more depressed and pessimistic by filling our heads with impossible beauty standards, mainly through social media and TV/Movies, and you have more people than ever with stress problems, eating disorders or straight up depression because they beat themselves up over their appearance. But the part that I don't get is that he's essentially saying we should be more open-minded and less judgmental about beauty and sexuality but then when magazines do harmless shit like show large women in bikinies JP and his gang go batshit fucking crazy over it. Like he's literally advocating that society should be less demanding of men in beauty standards but then he shits all over women for doing the same thing.

I was going to say, my initial thoughts on an alleged decrease in women's happiness would be in large part due to a massive increase on the ability to report on their unhappiness lmao. If you were to go to Saudi Arabia and report on women's unhappiness from 2021-2031, subsequently give women equal rights and protection under the law and then report their unhappiness from 2031-2041, you'd probably see an increase in reported unhappiness, solely due to the fact that they can now express their feelings without getting their ass beat. And it's not even like JP would be unaware of this as a factor, he's a fucking PhD level psychologist, you learn about confounding variables + the difference between correlation and causation in fucking secondary school god damnit.

He didn't really say that. He started off with NBC's then new behavior code of forbidding hug at the workplace. His question was: where are the boundraies of what a workplace should and shouldn't ban for the sake of stopping harrassment. And he literally said: he doesn't think make-up should be banned. Makeup was advertised for a specific reason and found its way into the culture; frankly, the reason why 'you' wear makeup is not the reason it even exists. Cosmetics in the 1920s were characterized by their use to create a specific look: lips painted in the shape of a Cupid's bow, kohl-rimmed eyes, and bright cheeks brushed with bright red blush. @@Jadinass Not sure if people are stupid in the west or what ? This is basic reasoning and logic. He is putting forth an EXTREME solution to solve a complicated problem - he does not mean women shall not wear makeup at all. He then lists out why make up would increase sexual harassment in the workplace due to subtle psychological effects it has on men. And if this extreme solution would probably not fix the problem, then how on earth can companies claim they could fix it by imposing ridiculous and unfair workplace rules on men ? He is playing the devil's advocate. Telling people that the problem is actually more complicated than they think. People usually think "it is because of all men", but they never know there are other factors contributing and so complex that its insanely difficult to solve. A seemingly simple question like "How to stop sexual harrassement in the workplace" cannot be answered with a simple answer. "So where can the line drawn ?" is one of peterson's question. Because "what is a harrassment and what is not?"Apparently, it is already a harrassment just because a women 'feels' she is harrassed. Legalizes something based on subjective feeling is not right. It is similar to hate speech. "how do you define hate speech?", just because you are offended doesnt mean there hate speech. if you want to make it a law you have to draw a clear line, and being subjective wouldn't do you any good.

"you can only have that take [sexual liberation harms people] if you dont think about women at all in the equation" this is literally it. Conservative men still treat women like children who don't know what's good for them and who need a grown up male voice to decide for them, all for their own benefit. and it makes me so angry that that's so normalised that most people don't even see what's wrong when men decide what's right for women, usually without ever having confronted a woman about the topic and asked them about it.

I got pretty heated I gotta say I really tried arguing with them and I fucking kid you not when after 5 minutes of talking they bring up Jordan Peterson and his arguments. An argument a classmate made against me was that" It's the feminization of men that is causing the decline in men's mental health". Needles to say the argument got heated and we left it after I want into a rant for like 5 minutes straight about JP spouting incel shit and transphobic politics. As a woman, I can tell you that people like him are the reason I feel guilty showing any cleavage, being intimate with my boyfriend of 4 years and even very occasionally watching anything slightly pornographic. I am very conservative on the appearance side only (I align with Hasan politically), I don't show any cleavage, or wear short skirts. However, there's nothing wrong with that. I've only had 1 sexual partner, being with him for 4 years. And didn't even look at anything pornganic until age 21. Women who have multiple partners (as long as not cheating) do one night stands, show off their body, and own it. I think thats great. Not really for me, but I see no reason why women can't be confident and sexual just as men are. But you know why alot of us women feel guilty? Because of people like him. Who tell us our whole lives to keep ourselves "innocent" and not let ourselves be permiscous. People like him are the reason I feel guilty sharing my love with my partner every single time. THIS. This just made me realize something as an autistic person... that my shame and guilt around being promiscuous is because: being on the spectrum as a woman you tend to want to follow social guidelines and these ideas are still kinda ingrained in society. I learned at a young age that it’s not good to be “sexual”, that you can get the wrong attention and some men will see you and want you because you’re “being sexy” or “dressing sexy” and you shouldn’t want that attention. While that’s true that you should be careful as a young girl, it honestly just tell you “you need to look out for men and how you get attention from them, it’s bad to want to be promiscuous”. And I took that to heart because when you’re masking you want to fit in, so you follow what people say. This comment just made me realize that maybe it’s not just that my autism affects my sexuality, but social norms also play a part of why my sexuality is conflicting or confusing to me. I have though been coming a long way with trying to follow my own opinions and thoughts more than other people. I tend to end up feeling kind of torn because I am very empathetic towards others and I have a hard time standing my ground on things. I think though I definitely have been picking up on how to stand my ground more. I’m still just not very articulate or something in putting my thoughts and ideas into words. Honestly though watching these videos has finally put my ideals down that I can stand up to others and not be confused on what I’m saying.

JP 🐸s take reminds me of a time when I was at work and a client gave me the “did you sit in sugar?” Pick up line and I actually wasn’t familiar with the line so I made him finish it not realizing until after it was a pick up line. A week later during my group I had another resident tell me I “pulled it out of him” so it’s my fault for getting upset because I forced the guy finish what he was saying and then i had a talk with him about respect and boundaries. I am so sick of this shit I have to work so hard to gain basic levels of respect and I REFUSE to sacrifice my sense of style or my right to self expression so I come to work wearing bomb ass peplum dresses. I come to work wearing high heels, If someone says some dirty shit to me, that’s THEM, THEY said that... I don’t control their fkin mouth, what has this come to? none of that bs is my fault and I will no longer take any responsibility for it. I refuse to continue this “dress down and wear baggy cloths so you don’t have to deal with it” BS If i do that, things will never change. Nah bro I’m wearing my badass peplum dress and pill hat with feathers. Deal with it and grow into a respectable adult.

Idk why some ppl believe the victim should be interrogated instead of the harasser People who tell you to wear baggy clothes are basically telling you to get a shield But the real solution to end the conflict is to remove the sword from the harasser. From my perspective I see it that these perpetrators should be dealt with first but maybe baggy clothes can be a start I view it kinda like covid, it's a problem that should be dealt with but it's extremely hard to get rid of, just like sexual harassment. In the meantime of this conflict, some protection would be good Anyways that's enough for my weird take

@@mihaiciobanu2665 sword or shield, you're making the same point as necro made. The issue is that there shouldn't be a sword in the first place. I assume an upringing in a loving same sex couple household will always be better than in a single household, orphanage or an abusive one. Thats why i don't understand same sex adoption being a topic of discussion. The state should be happy about every child that is out of the system and into a healthy household. The chances of that child being able to contribute to society rises exponentially

Caught a nice little contradiction in there; at 38:40, Jordan says "it seems to be the case that women on the birth control pill don't like masculine men". But he spends the rest of his time talking about how the pill is ruining everything, AND how the problem is that women only want alpha males if you give them a choice. Ok, so then let them take the pill. That solves "the alpha problem".
