A woman looks back and becomes salt as a result ......That is simply unjust and wrong by any moral standard. It is altogether most irrational and impossible to believe in Genesis 19;26 .......When the argument is weak simply shout and continually raise your voice to extinguish doubt in your hearers and then use fast talking without any rhyme or reason with a few scripture texts out of context to drive irrationality home.

Presently going through the divorce process after being betrayed by my spouse. This sermon had me in tears multiple times. I needed to hear this so much! I’ve lost 2 jobs this year from being laid off and I’ve been stuck in a feeling of disappointment , worry, and confusion where I’ve lost sight of the promises of god. I can say that god has my attention now as I’m learning to place my faith in him and him alone. Such a great message. I have been having reoccurring dreams of my ex husband. And regret and doubt have been really attacking me. Almost every single night. This was needed confirmation. Years ago. I had my ex husbands contact name in my phone as “Lot’s wife”. So any time he called it reminded me to not look back!!! One day my youngest child said to me when he saw the name come up on my phone.. “who’s Lot’s wife??” I said “ your Dad”. 😂. long story. Lol. And here years later the devil tries to bring this around again. Just because I don’t see the future doesn’t mean God doesn’t have a good new plan for my life. I won’t look back. Timely message. Also, just recently I bought a big salt lamp and it’s on my kitchen counter. Lol. Good reminder right in my face daily!

I can't thank you enough for posting this. I wish so bad I could talk to Chris Caine about this in detail! I survived sexual abuse with my dad and when we had to empty my mother's house since she had Alzheimer's and could not live there any longer, I had to face those demons. This past Sunday I rededicated my life to Christ through Baptism. ALOT of it was listening to this service. I WILL NOT LOOK BACK. We can’t change the past or the people in it or what was done wrong or what was done right, what is truth and what is deceit….but we can trust in God being in your tomorrow with goodness and sovereignty. We can trust that He can handle the past, present and future. Lots wife looked behind because her world was there in that hopeless place. Her family, friends, neighbors, her home with all the things she had accumulated over time. Things they made themselves from farming lands, tools, cooking supplies to weaved fabric. All she knew was there in Sodom and all that she had grown accustomed to. Wrong or right, humans survival and coping skills are able to adapt momentarily in order to survive and keep going. It doesn’t make it acceptable, just bearable enough to move forward. Gods perspective is different because He saw the evil had permeated the area and it was rotting. You can’t sow seed on rotting soil. You can’t water seeds with stagnant water or expect good fruits to grow in a dump. She looked back most likely in pity or concern or grief. Perhaps it wasn’t that God was punished her for looking back as it’s a natural thing to do, but maybe she became salt because as Sodom burned, the evil lifted and her spiritual eyes were opened to what she had never seen before. Too much to behold. Like Moses’ appearance being altered upon seeing God in the form of a burning bush on Mt. Sinai. She become salt and salt in biblical days was valuable and used for trading. So maybe we interpret her transformation as a curse, when it’s just meant to teach us that when God secures you away from evil, trust that some evil is not meant to be seen or understood humanity. He protected her soul by taking her with Him at that very moment. Just a commentary based on biblical history.

There is Hope and Love which can only be found in Jesus. God has a purpose for you now. He sees, knows and understands the pain from your past. God doesn't see your scars from your past, whether you made mistakes or decisions where made for you. What God sees is your Beauty. He sees you as fearfully and wonderfully made. The timeliness of every time I hear Pastor Christine speak.. and even yesterday on the Youversion app... it brings me to tears. I love her. Thank You, God, for allowing her to be your instrument here to bring many others your message. I'm convicted and encouraged. I was obedient to what I felt God tell me, and I did something that was super difficult .. a relationship to end in person vs. any electronic devices. Idk if the guy is gonna come back to me ready, but I want to be a prisoner of hope and about my heavenly father's business. All I have to do is nothing to drift. God has been working on me over a lesson that I’m writing that she just confirmed. Mine is based around 1 Sam 16:1 How long will we mourn for our past and not allow God to bring us into our future he has prepared for us… I needed to hear this.
