I just clicked on this video since I am on a BYU Disney binge and as the first few lyrics of this version were just beginning to play out (in Spanish), I can't help but immediately tear up... I suddenly lost my dad abroad earlier this year. It was such a hopeless and painful time. I praise God for guiding us and we just truly feel His presence as we go through the process of grieving. I'll always remember my dad with this song as he introduced me to my love for films and Disney. Thank you for this BYU and company 😢 Music is just such a profound and incredible blessing which accompany us in so many ways as we go through life, and thank you for being stewards of such passion for music and expressing yourselves through it. I was waiting for a rehearsal yo begin and was attempting to write something for something else, but I heard this and just about broke down. I love the song but haven't heard it in a while. I moved from California to England about a month ago, and a week after I left, my Nana passed away. I only got to talk to her on Wednesday, and she died on Friday, and I had to finagle to get a video call. I took screenshots of her happy and smiling face that day. She was the happiest I saw her in a long time. The last time I saw her in person, she thought she might not see me again, but I didn't think anything of it bc she has spoken like that for years and she was healthy for an 85 year old woman with many medical issues. I loved her so much, she was really my second mother, always there for me growing up in a difficult household with my special needs brother. Being adopted, she never once made me feel lesser than or like I wasn't loved. Nana absolutely loved Disney and Disneyland. She was born the same year that Snow White came out and loved her. Her and my Papa had their first date in Disneyland when it was still being built in the 50s and they lived in the area. This song reminded me of her so much and of how she felt to me, warm and loving, even when we didn't necessarily get along. Having her gone so soon after I leave home for the first time was not something I expected to have to deal with, but I've made it a month since she passed, and through everything I'm reminded of a Corrie Ten Boome quote "You don't know how much you need Christ until Christ is all you have left." I saw that today in a blog post I wrote as a teenager and it really struck me how true it is. This is a very long comment that is mostly here to say thank you for giving me this memory of her with this song. Thank you very much, I really needed it.
