"Nothing Else Matters" is a song written and originally performed by James Hetfield of Metallica. It was released in 1992 on Metallica's self titled album. As far as we can tell, this is one of the only a cappella versions of this song and we hope that we've given such an iconic song the treatment it deserves. Thanks again for watching!

Yes; im a bass baritone and I have got some very low notes but I didn’t even know those notes on Geoff are even possible-I’m hearing an E1. 41 Hz!!! It's Metallica, but it's gonna be relaxed and easy (for me). Eli, Cesar, J, nothing crazy (by the way how high can you sing?). Layne, you just have to do a basic rock drum set (sing, AND play violin)." Eli: *gets a glint in his eyes and just grins* Cesar: *looks at Eli* "Bro, you ok?" If it had been any other a cappella group than Voiceplay I would have had my doubts that this song could even be done in a cappella, not to mention that it takes a lot to do James Hetfield's voice justice. Voiceplay however not only did the song so that the voices blend together in a way that is different from, and yet definitely worthy of James Hetfield, but they also managed to twist it enough to make it completely their own without loosing the essens of this iconic song. What a masterpiece!

Never went down the Metallica Road, but this song makes me appreciate the core meaning of the lyrics and I love what VoicePlay did with it. I guess I was just in that music era where so many groups were doing screaming guitars that didn't really SAY anything. Might go revisit the original, but I can't stop listening to this one. I told Hubby it's my new love song for him. With all the crazy that has been around us for several years he has been my rock and my solace and when I am with him, it's all good AND Nothing Else Matters.

Were it possible to wear out a digital track, that's exactly what I would have done over on Patreon. This is one of my favourite, if not top VoicePlay things ever. I still get chills. I'm *so* glad J was able to join for this one, because his voice is just perfect here. Eli is, appropriately, the absolute rock star of this song. Layne gets to show off in a jaw-dropping way, but I won't spoil that. Cesar's earnest, breathy tone is gorgeous. Geoff is just awesome. I mean always, but a heaping of extra bassy awesomeness here. Such a masterful arrangement and production all around ❤

I think these normally-butter-smooth, dapper a cappella-loving gentlemen have some grit in their very souls that is slowly seeping out over time and it's a beautiful thing to behold. They started with Panic at the Disco and Queen (seriously, who dares to start with Queen?), moved on to Prince and a double helping of Imagine Dragons, blessed us with a wonderful spin on Kansas, and then followed that by absolutely nailing the one Aerosmith song everybody knows it's better to just leave alone. Now they start the new year with Metallica?!? They're all going to need new toothbrushes to get the sand out of their teeth if they keep this up, but I for one really hope they don't stop! 🤘🤘

Metallica’s ‘Metallica’ album or for those who go by the other name ‘The Black Album’, as it came to be, was a staple in my household growing up. My dad went on a witch hunt through pawnshops, cd stores, remember those? Those existed. He went looking everywhere for it and once he found it, there was not a day of renovations that you did not listen to that album on REPEAT. It was like a rite of passage really. But, I will forever grateful to have been introduced to Metallica for that reason. And to see one of the hits off of that album be presented in such an exquisite and beautiful, not to mention intricate way, I hope the world enjoys this version as much as I have. Bravo fellas! BRAVO!

What did I take from this: when there is an instrument ( Lyane Stein his violin solo) it gonna be so serious what Voiceplay tackles. Let’s talk about the other vocal: woah, Eil serious rockn’ roll style and control his rockn’ roll voice with much rustic kickback, J None and Cesar de la Rosa, 2 baritone but one of them is baritenor ( Cesar de la Rosa) two baritone are so darker but blend with the light on their vocals, so impeccable and legendary, let’s talk about Geoff, he is like a gravesite digger that we so elated for his low of the lowest notes in this. Overall: this is one of the best song that I ever heard. What you take from this? Song request for Voiceplay: From here to Eternity by Def Leppard.

I've always been a sucker for songs that evoke an emotional response from me. When Metallica released this one, I enjoyed it, but it didn't initially *grab* me. A few months later, I fell into what turned out to be a rather rough time in my life, and I heard it again (it *was* rather ubiquitous), and it was like hearing it for the first time. This time, it hit me straight in the core of my being and completely resonated with me. (In retrospect, my interpretation of the song at that time was not the same as James Hetfield's in writing it, but hey, music has always been subjective! 😁) Fast forward to now... to hear a stripped down, a cappella version from you that still maintains that *feel* of the original? This was another blow directly to my core. This time I'm older (and I'd like to think wiser), but it still staggered me. This arrangement is just mind blowing in how it *feels* simple, but is oh so complex. 🤯 My jaw is still in residence on the floor, and I canNOT thank you enough for this, guys. 🤘🏻💕
