If I were French I'd be very proud of it and the country that has people that created such a pheonomenal game. Another absolutely fantastic game is Dishonored, also made by French studio. I'm Polish however, and even though I'm proud of Witcher games, but it's no mystery that I always prefered sci-fi settings than fantasy ones. Salutations de la Pologne!

Don'tnod said that as a result of having to sign with Capcom to publish this game and budget issues due to being a smaller studio they had to cut a ton of content from this game and only about 1/3 of their full vision was realized. Despite that still a very interesting game and I hope they continue to have success so they can pick this back up and make a sequel.

I felt if I just put in just the cutscenes, A lot of the dialogue between her and other characters would be lost. Plus with some gameplay you can follow the story better.

It's better in French. The English voice actress sounds "scared" all the time, and a lot of the translations are awkward. For example, in French, Nilin's father calls her "My princess" which somehow gets translated to "My little smartie." The Madame character is called "Maitresse" (like, headmistress) which makes the "school's out" comment make a lot more sense. The voice acting is better, too, although that may just be because i don't understand enough French to notice how bad it is. Also it's worth it just to hear "Johnny Greenteeth" pronounced by French people.

The translation may have shortcomings, but I really like how the English voice actress conveyed Nilin. She did an excellent job conveying the Nilin's frustration and disorientation in particular. It fits very well in the theme of having lost your memories and having no choice but to reluctantly follow a person who seems to know more, in hopes you will eventually regain enough bearings to make your own stand. My favorites of her deliveries are "no going back now" (at 19:05 in this video) and a few or other of those lines where she's saying "your plan isn't working" and later something else to that effect, where she is obviously angry that Edge has led her to do something, but she still has no choice but to forward. I couldn't find that part right now though.

I loathe that reveal with Scylla. Imagine if, when you were remixing her, she only ever called her child "dear" or something similar. Then during the remixed version of the crash she actually says Nilin for the first time.

Gotta love seeing old Paris landmarks in their new Neo Paris forms, like the white cathedral in the background of the Leaking Brain, and the Eiffel Tower, and I believe Notre-Dame and L'Arc de Triomphe and some sort of famous pillar that has power cables. Edit: Also, yeah, La Bastille.

I am curently playing Remember me. anf i disagree with "gameplay isnt this games stronges point" It actualy is, even tho cinematics are amazing. The story line and the combo/combat system is amazing aswell. especialy the quickaction jukes with X to dodge a attack in last milisecond. and those moments where you alter someones memore are just incredible. easy. but still incredibly fun. imo

It's an interesting combat system that takes some getting used to. The problem is that once you get the hang of it, it becomes trivially easy. Also, every fight is "here's a room full of dudes: FIGHT!" You never get ambushed and you never get to ambush anyone else. The dynamic music, the visuals, and Nilin's butt make up for all of that, though.

this game had alot of things above the competition, but combat was abysmal, the studio had to shut down after a few months but i fear not for the members as they are incre-talented. great effort put into this video and it sure paid off, thanks alot

+Joysturk I know its an 8 month old comment, but developer didn't shut down. instead they turned to public funding, made a serialized game called "life is strange" (sort of telltale games style) and are currently working on another game. they did almost go under, but they restructured and they keep working as a team.

Joysturk :D to be honest, I've yet to play it myself, but several of my friends have been and they are all saying that first chapter starts really slow, but it gets better later on. a lot of people seem to like it (and well.. I did like playing remember me) so its good that studio is alive and kicking, working on another game :D

Until the ending, I thought the writing was really bad. Thing is, it was. The entire game and the story - the way it was presented - was just a generic mess of an attempt, until the ending. Then I understood what someone else said in the comments: that there was just not enough money. The ending was really worth the pain of having to watch through it, it somewhat redeemed my opinion about the whole story. This could've been a Deus Ex: HR-level game, if only there was more time and money put into it. Great idea and wonderful audiovisuals. Oliviér Deriviere doesn't fail to deliver. Execution was rushed at best. Shiiiet, this could've been such an epic experience... Ah well.

i rem i dl'd the trial of this game on xb360 a coupla years ago and found the combat tedious and.. just 'not quite right'. but i was prob being lazy. considering it was coded for the 360 it was a stunning looking game. also, Nilin has a sweet ass. this has to be one of the most interesting, in depth stories in a game. fantastic concept. and there should have been more manipulating memories to replace the tedous combat. great vid, GG, tho i wanted to see a bit more of the fight scenes but considering it was its most weakest aspect i understand why u edited out 90% of all combat.

Good voicing, and good looking visuals and movement. Weird pacing, soundtrack, and dialogue. The premise is still sort rips from those memory remix puzzles in Myst IV Revelations. That game's from 2004.

Well the game does have the essence to be a good film, however I highly doubt it'll be a spectacular film. Due to how bad the economy is atm or how backward the Hollywood industry is currently; with them solely focusing on recycling old movies and unwillingly to take huge "risks" in investing and making new movies, the game makers of "Remember Me" took a calculated path and decided to make this into a game instead. My gut feeling says it'll fare no better than the movie "Oblivion" with Tom Cruise as the main actor. Graphically speaking both Remember me and Oblivion would be quite similar. So unless the makers are willing to fork a lot of $$$ to their lead actress I doubt Remember Me would be a box office success. But who knows with Capcom backing the game, they might just make a movie out of this game like how they did with Resident Evil.
