Haurchefant's death was heartbreaking but seeing Count Edmont drop his cane and fall to the ground and weep hit me really hard.
@meghanreid75233 жыл бұрын
my bf recently got into playing ffxiv right before i finished the last patch, and he watched me play through really sad scenes like haurchefant's death and his families reactions, along with the quest "faded memories" and he was like "oh it cant be that bad, ill probably laugh when he dies" and well... he didn't. he cried, just as hard as i did, and he told me later that playing through the story and getting to actually know haurchefant as a character, and understanding why i was, and tbh still upset about it, is what got to him. he said watching edmont grieve was also really hard for him to watch, bc you come to love his family too. i know hes gonna cry like a baby when he gets to faded memories

Honestly for me, the saddest part of any well written death isn't the actual death of the character, but the reactions of those who knew them

What got me when I played FFXIV, wasn't just Haurchefant and his family's reaction. It wasn't just with what happened with Paypamayo. It wasn't just the heartache I felt, when I saw the Resistance attacked and lost so many. The scene of how Tsuki was given a second chance, and was dashed to be made to be a primal. And even with the Warrior of Dark's inability to do anything with what he is now. It was Smech's scene. The character that was built up to be such a villain. To be the one person we had to fight against. Thru ShB, we got to finally see inside of his mind. The mind of those we had to defeat, the other Ascians. But more than that, we finally got to FEEL what they felt. What THEY were going through from the memories that were going by. Seeing how we HAD to stop him, HAD to save everyone from him. THAT was what got to me. It was the build up of so many heartaches, so many things that we, as the Warrior of Light had gone thru. And to the ending point, to having to put down a person, that all he wanted to do, was to bring back those he loved. To just simply smile at us, and tell us, 'To remember Us.' THAT was what broke me. It made me realize, that while we are the Warrior of Light, we had to do something that we ourselves, are doing in order to protect our own friends and family. Having to go as far as them, themselves, just so we can keep our current world from shattering. In all honesty, this video reminds me of so many of the heartache that happened through my own journey, and I have to give mad props to Fluff. Your videos are just so wonderful and they always bring a smile or tear to my face. Keep up the awesome work!

Because of everything I've gained from this experience, friends, family, a wife and a hundred stories that I cherish with fond memories when I look back, the memories are my most cherished. @@jobRobbemond Spoiler alert for stormblood's main story. On the Azim steppe we meet a tribe of xaela's who believe they never die but are instead reborn over and over in their own tribe. Therefore, if they're dying, they go to the nearby desert to expire there without any rites, left to the wild beasts. Gosetsu, still tormented by the fate of his previous lord and the fact that he the old general survived confides us his thoughts about it. You can find it easily on youtube.

I had to compose myself before i could type, but you nailed the vibe that is ff14. As someone who started MMO with ff11 (which had as great story as well), ff14 1.0 through ff14 shb has had an impactful story. Though i only played the 1.0 pre yoshida story to just after meeting adult minfilia, i did the ul'dah story so had to deal with child minfilia... (who was a brat) as i couldn't play much due to my home life being crap. I got to see more after yoshida took over and got to see the dalamud drop build up from start too just 2 months prior the server shut down. (couldn't hit 50 in time to do the full story though, max was 30) I had many restarts, been in many free companies, met many people. To this day i still recall meeting my boyfriend in game for the first time, the day he told me he liked me, the day i got on a plane to go live with him. The times we played both good and bad, our good and bad days irl. He has been a big support of me through thick and thin. I remember the day I joined in one of the best free companies i've been in, who have been nothing but kind to me. Who understand my struggles and that we support each other. Prior to 5.3 i had to take a long break as the server/data center was just not good for me. tbh I had quit ff14, as i got tired of the vitriol i was getting due to my tanking, regardless of what I did. I tried other mmo on ps4 and none of them seem to fit, and ff14 just had a lot of important memories for me. So when 5.3 drop I started fresh on crystal, on diabolos, and it has been the best experience. Though ppl can be angsty, it is not as bad as it was on the other dc. I honestly got caught up quickly considering I leveled all my classes/jobs roughly the same time. And fully caught up just after 5.4. I recently switched from being a lalafell girl, to a miqo'te male and really enjoying my character, he just fits my personality and style. Literally saw a glam outfit on someone that was male only on a peice, and thought it make cute gathering glam. My bf said he be ok if i switched, and he switched back to the female miqo'te I met him on. My fc loves him as well, as we had some funny moments, such as me playing dead as a tank right under out healer during a break. Her characters foot was in the "right spot" and we both noticed and laughed our butts off. I'm happy i came back to ff14, i'm making much more happier memories then every with an fc i adore, and meeting more and more people, building more confidence up into doing more/different content types i shied away from due to bad experiences. Thank you for the lovely video, and keep the fond memories in your heart. The good ones will stick to you, and keep the bad ones away. in parting, i will add... to this day, I still remember the first day I played my first mmo (ff11) i met a galka monk named rykon who showed me the ropes of the game. He took me to leveling spots not everyone used that could net me some great exp. Only seen him that first week and never again. To this day i remember him, and his kindness. I was 19 years old, I'm 36 now.

I see it coming, do I run or fire my gun or let it be? There is no beat, no melody Burr, my first friend, my enemy Maybe the last face I ever see If I throw away my shot, is this how you’ll remember me? What if this bullet is my legacy? Legacy. What is a legacy? It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see I wrote some notes at the beginning of a song someone will sing for me America, you great unfinished symphony, you sent for me You let me make a difference A place where even orphan immigrants Can leave their fingerprints and rise up I’m running out of time. Throughout my time playing the game, I had been doing a thing I often do with anything I play or watch, and that is think of story ideas involving this world and it's story. Now it's really easy to think of plotlines and characters and things like that. But whenever I watch this video...it actually helps me *feel* the pain, the anger, the sorrow that my characters would feel, *have* felt as I walked with them through this amazing and beautiful emotional roller coaster of a story. The fact that we even cry over these fictional characters show how brilliant of a story they’ve blessed us with so far. Thank you for the beautiful video Fluff! And thank you XIV team for this masterpiece of an MMO.

Well done making a video that is not only incredibly moving but also brilliant on the technical level.

Absolutely beautiful. All of the scenes I cried on all compiled into a single video, ready for me to cry once more in a later date.

As soon as the song started I Knew I was in a world of pain, ThePruld got me good with it so long ago and now I'm going to attribute it to XIV too. This is beautiful but OH GOD IT HURTS

Another Souls fan here. I knew I was in for an emotional ride when the first verse started. I think both versions carry their own weight. Where ThePruld's was more about creating a sense of purpose and hope where there is none in the world, Fluffstuff's is about holding on to the hope and dreams we have, and to move forward for those that fell in support of our dreams. That's just my inyerpretation though.

Such a wonderful way to encompass all the amazing memories a lot of us have had from the beginning of our time in FF, whether it was release day, or recently for others. I could never forget these memories. So to "Remember Us"/Remember them will be the easiest thing I ever do. Amazing video as always! Thank you for putting your heart, soul, and time into such amazing pieces.

This game is such a masterpiece and you turned its storyline into something even greater... Thank you so so SO much for implementing Papalymo's death because a lot of people tend to forget him. I'll be over here in the corner wiping away my tears, thank you very much.

I waited a whole month for me to finish the main quest to return to this video and watch it. And I wasn't disappointed. While not your typical upbeat style, this is some of your best work. To another great expansion, to the moon and beyond.

Looking around at FF14 creations after beating endwalker. When this video started with that background hum I thought 'no, it's not. is it?' and it was! I listened to this song a hundred times attached to that Dark Souls one by the Pruld. You did a great job on this!
