This is one of the many reasons you are my fav on the show. I was very close my Grandmother. She was everything to me. Unfortunately I was not blessed to have her in my life for very long. When I was 15, she lost her battle to cancer. She was more than a grandmother to me. She was like a mom, my best friend, my mentor, just to name a few. I spent everyday with her. Like you, I was happy to be with her, I was content. I'm going to be 50 this year, not a day has gone by that I dont miss her. She gave me a wealth of knowledge and memories in the short time I had with her. Your Grandma reminded me of mine in so many ways. Your relationship with her reminded me of my relationship with my Grandmother. What a beautiful tribute to her by writing her story and continuing to carry on what was near and dear to her. Loved the video. Just remember that she is still with you, and no matter how much times goes by, you will always miss her but, her memory and her spirit will always be with you. She is smiling with pride for this amazing video and the book. Thank you for sharing her with us all...big hugs

I loved this. I loved watching you on the show and when your grandmother would make appearance. Im also Romanian and it always pricked my ear whenever there was a mention of the country I was born in. Similar to your grandmother mine also speaks some harsh truths, she also lived through some hard times. She was a servant girl during the war. We are very lucky to have been exposed to those life stories, I certainly have an appreciation and admiration for the hardships they have experienced. We are certainly lucky. I'll have to pick up a copy of the book you wrote for sure.

My heart broke and literally hurt for you when Edith's passing was announced. I am an only child that was born to parents where my dad was also an only child. My relationship with my paternal grandmother was a close one too! But Edith's life was extraordinarily amazing! So thank you for also posting about your book about her! Beautiful woman, your Grand Mother. To bad Bravo did not give her, her own show to travel the world & tell her stories & others like her. No doubt it would have won awards & been top rated by viewers. What a blessing that you & your grandmother connected so well & that you have so much respect for her to give her your time when you were young. Powerful moments!! Thank you for sharing your beloved Grandmother with the world. She was a true blessing!! Now she is spreading laugher, joy & wonderful stories in Heaven. Love the story that she brought cooked eggplant to the “Club” to share with the wait staff...when you have been thru hell like your Grandmother, it’s hard to be around people who are materialist and have never suffered like she & her family had. Your Grandmother understood the true purpose of Planet Earth = connect with people on a emotional & mental level especially about pain & suffering.
