She's one of the many reasons I'm still acting. Hearing her beautiful voice on the Ragtime soundtrack made me want to be that good. She was a wonderful person who I strive to be like. God bless you Marin Mazzie.

I needed this...I was concerned right after her passing that too little was being made of the great loss of Marin's luminescent presence on stage and her tremendous impact within the theatre community...but it's clear to me now that her memory will live on.

I first saw Marin Mazzie in Passion. She was a beautiful goddess and I never stopped being in awe of her. She had an enormous impact on me throughout my college career in theater.

And if you think about it, the final scene from Passion where everyone disappears and Giorgio is alone takes on a whole new sadder meaning here now that Marin is gone...

I had the thrill of seeing Marin perform in the role of Aldonza in MAN OF LA MANCHA with Brian Stokes Mitchell. And a few years later the additional privilege of working as a. dresser for Marin and Jason’s New Years Eve Concert with the San Francisco Symphony. I found them both very generous and kind. I continued to stay in touch with Marin through Twitter and followed her courageous battle with cancer. She will always be my hero, my guardian angel and will always be in my ❤️.

I remembered watching the concert of Andrew Lloyd Webber at Roy Thomson Hall. It featured Colm Wilkinson. Then there was this beautiful tall blonde woman who had the voice of an angel come down the stage singing songs from Evita. I was enthralled with her voice and looked at my play bill. And it said the name Marin Mazzie. That was my first time to see and hear her beautiful voice in person. Another time was watching Ragtime in N. York Centre with the excellent cast of Marin as the mother, Audra and Brian. It was a magical night with musical theater. It was so beautiful that I went again to watch it on another night. That’s my recollection of the beautiful Marin Mazzie. I encourage people to post their experience of this beautiful singer and performer.

Donna Murphy’s tribute reminded me of the Robert Frost poem….. “NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY” Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.

I saw Marin in what was probably close to the last thing she did on Broadway, "The King And I " at Lincoln Center. As others have noted here, she was regal and of great bearing and yet gutsy and earthy at the same time along with a surprising softness and vulnerability. No, that's not describing three different woman, that's the holographic complexity and kaleidoscopic gifts of this amazing woman and performer. I was shocked and sad when I heard she had died so soon after I saw her.

I hated that I found out about her after she passed I was devastated because I started listening to her maybe 2 months after and I knew where I was when it happened. Her performance shook me and inspired me greatly (this was from Carrie) she brought so much more depth to the character than others had and I was excited to listen to her in Next to normal. I went looking for upcoming projects of hers and just what expect and seeing that it hadnt even been 6 months since. The fact out of everyone in that show she was the one I wanted find out about speaks volumes, she really is an inspiration and a beautiful soul and I pray for peace for everyone that ever met her

What a phenomenal tribute to a genuine artist and human being. I count myself most fortunate to have seen Marin and Audra in "Ragtime" in December 1998. The entire cast was superb; the finale brought me to tears. My condolences on your/our loss, but she still lives on in recordings. Lucky us.

Never met her,, never saw her in live performance, but was a major fan from youtube and TV. Hey, it's the hinterlands, what can I say? This was a beautiful tribute to a woman who gave happiness to many, many people she never saw. Anyone who watches her friends remember Marin Mazzie, and especially the short portion of this video with her husband Jason Daniely at the end, has to realize that this woman made a real difference in the lives of the theater community and of all of her fans, even the ones who never got to see her in person. I hope I have that affect on even one person when my life is over. Thank you for sharing your memories of Marin Mazzie, everyone. I knew she was a wonderful artist. This tells me she was an even more amazing person. Life well lived.
