Couple of years back, there was some painting job going on at home. One of the painters, a young man in his 20's was telling me about a bad experience at a job site like "pani bhi paroos say aata tha", I was like Karachi mei pani kis paroosi nay diay??? He said "sir, woh Madam Noor Jehan ka ghar hei, sub ko kuch na kuch milta hei". I assume it was one of her family member's home who is continuing Madam's legacy. Also, being a huge fan myself, I was floored the way the young painter had mentioned so respectfully " Madam Noor Jehan ka ghar"!!! Truly a blessed soul our Madam.

When I was little my Mom use to talk about Madam Noor Jehan that how famous she was for her singing. But I never new who she was until one day I found her song in this KZbin channel. I was amazed by her singing. I thank KZbin for bringing her back and many more talent in front of us. Me and my mother are watching this interview together. I must say all three of Madam Noor Jahan's daughters are so graceful and well educated. Never seen anyone like them before. kiya tehzeeb, kiya tareeqa aur bat kehny ka saleeqa hay. esi aulad jisy dekh k log rashk karen waqai apny parents k kiye sadqa e jaariya hoti hay. I was very young when Madam noor jahan passed away. still remember the News on PTV. My brother joined Army because of her songs like' ae puttar hattan te nahi vikday'. @hina durrani I distinctly remember i was 13 years old boy and was on my way to school for 27 iftari in them times when heard the news on PTV about Madam Noor Jahan. I cried extremely bad and asked my mother to take me to her funeral as we were in lahore. Everyone in school made my fun as i was a die hard fan of Madam but no one cared about it and spent rhe whole night crying I never saw her live in my life yet her songs are still alive in me. Whenever I am sad or happy i listen to one of her song Me hon shaam ka raag. Hina aapi after two decades thank you very much for sharing this. Every anniversary on 23 December i ask my mum ami koi news dikhai ha tv p madam ki as not being at home due to work. Once again thank you so much. Respect and regards from united Kingdom.

Jazak´Allah khayr for this beautiful beauuuuutiful interview. I both smiled and had tears throughout it. I´m a Pakistani born abroad and while other Pakistanis around us were immersed in foreign content, I grew up with madam jee´s songs and movies. Like her, we used to stand by all things Pakistani (without hating anyone else). When you relayed how she started to miss Pak after just 2-3 days abroad, I really felt it in my heart. I KNOW that feeling so well! My sister and I used to collect small pebbles on our vacations to Pak and then keep them safe in a glass jar as a memory of our "sarzameen". Just a simple thing like hearing the Azaan is a soul-stirring experience when one lives abroad and doesn´t get to hear it for years on end. I´d also like to touch upon something sensitive. There is a comment further below that made me a bit sad, and I hope that you were able to shut it out from your mind. Religion is a thing that should improve our character. If anyone thinks that religion means taking out faults in others, then they´ve misunderstood things. None of us is perfect. We´re all on different depths of practising our Deen and only Allah has the full knowledge of someone´s efforts. I LOVE people who love Allah swt. HOW that love shows though is none of my business. The point is that we should leave such matters to Allah swt. Yes, someone who seems glamorous in a worldy way might make us wonder, but then again...are we perfect ourselves? No, nobody is. So please people, refrain from hurting someone with your words. I think it´s great that you´re so immersed in the Deen, but please be careful in how you represent Allah´s way. I thought it was wonderful to hear about the spiritual side of such an accomplished and popular lady. Perhaps it´s a good lesson for us to see that Allah doesn´t just live in the hearts of superficially practising (hijaab and beard) Muslims, but also within someone who you might think of as a person of the dunya? Allah swt is for EVERYONE, both the practising and the struggling. Only Allah knows the true efforts of all of us. The person you see as glamorous or caught up in the dunya might just carry a lot of good deeds or characteristics that you might not have even if you dress modestly in hijaab. Please please don´t deny people from all walks of life to have a love for Allah swt and Rasool paak s.a.w.w. Don´t dishearten and stress people to such an extent that they start running away from and avoiding practising Muslims. We´re all trying our best, trying to reach Allah swt with a sound heart. Help each other, we´re all family, we´re all part of the Ummah. As salaamu alaykum.

My beloved Nanaji was a huge fan of Madam Noor Jehan and was lucky enough to be in the audience when she she came to India in 1982. He used to say the highlight of his life was hearing her voice in person. We played Awaaz De Kahan Hai at my Nana's funeral - it was his last request. Madam Noor Jehan was beloved by everyone and her music transcended all borders. Clearly she was also an excellent mother to have raised such elegant and eloquent daughters.

Very nice to see the daughters of the legend. I have never been to Pakistan but Madam Noorjehan kept your country alive for me. Oneday, my family was listening to some of her songs and my daughter started imitating her. She was so good that I encouraged her to try some makeup and hairdo like Madam. There is an Ayat in QURAN that "Allah gives respect to whomever HE desires and humiliation to whomever HE desires". For me personally, she was the living explanation of this Quranic verse. She lived in a society where female singers/actors are still looked down and yet, no-one absolutely no-one was respected as much as she was. There was no-one like her and there will be no-one like her. What a blessed and amazing human being she was. May Allah bless her soul.

Beautiful interview. Loved every bit of it. I grew up in 70's and used to think that Madam Noor Jahan was an actual Queen. I'm a huge fan of hers and not a single day passes when I don't listen to her songs. I'm lucky that my wife also loves her. The day Madam passed away, I cried all day as if my own mother had died. I'm living in Dublin Ireland since early 90's. My children were born and grew up here, however they also have musical taste in old Pakistani music. May Allah grant her a highest place in Jannat ul Firdous. Aameen
