Unfortunately, Ubisoft has once again detected something the player base enjoys and deployed their removal bombardments with Operation New Blood (excessive microtransactions included). Though this has taken me awhile to make, and it's nowhere near what I wish it could have been, I'd rather have released it than to have not. Expect more to come, because I'm back on the grind, and just like a live service game, it only gets worse from here.

The second worst decision Ubisoft made was getting rid of recruit, the first worst was getting rid of situations

situations and by proxy t-hunt (because they used the same bot system) had to be removed. the framework was so old it was a better use of resources to remake the mode for modern siege. they probably could make a modern rainbow six pve game (not extraction), but don't get mad at the siege direction. This is a comp fps, any non pvp mode is largely ignored by the vast majority of players.

What I miss most is having multiple at once, the amount of times while getting footage for this I had my entire team and then the entire enemy team all on recruit just because he got picked was astonishingly beautiful

I only played Siege once, (dropped it long before it became the meme-machine, esports mess it is now) but you know what I never realised until this? This faceless, nameless, rather unremarkable fella ironically feels like the most faithful to a depiction of Rainbow 6 as an organization, especially as time has gone past. He looks like a counter-terror operative, elite but grounded in realism. Meanwhile everyone else from Sledge all the way to Tubarao look like a collection of milsim airsoft larpers with "special abilities" like they're Overwatch characters. Who also if I recall have training competitions, with a live audience... the clandestine counter-terror organization has training competitions with a live audience...

This. Every operator added after the first few "new" ones just seemed out of place to me. Never got much into the game as the contrast between my more grounded expectation and the absolute mess of operators and skins just put me off

Aside from being in a world with more advanced tech, the powers just started becoming ridiculous. Iana, Fenrir, Tub, gridlock's isn't big enough to fit those spikes. So many newer characters are changed to be interesting fun and useful without fitting the original aesthetic. Same with the outfits. Yeah we had fun event cosmetics but most the skins anymore are ridiculous looking or garbage looking universals

Especially with those Stadium games you could tell they were trying to go Overwatch: Ignore the plot and spar for the hell of it. The softball tournament is even more stupid when you know *why* they usually wear masks during work: Retaliation. Jean Pierre killing Abdul the Childimpaler may lead to Jaffar Goatfiddler seeking revenge on him or anyone he knows.

In all of my accounts (except youtube because this is mostly a burner account) i have my nickname Recruit because an old group of friends used to call me recruit (instead of my other nickname at the time that i inherited from my brother) The nickname grew on me and permamently changed to Recruit, so i have some emotional attachement to my boy recruit in R6 The first rework was honestly enough to make me leave the game I want ALL the guns and Armor types to use, not just limited to 3 weapons with attachments ALSO NO FUCKING SHIELD, WORST CHANGE this second rework does NOTHING to bring me back nor Bring justice to recruit

all guns, no way. the siege devs will never allow players to select from every weapon. guns are a balancing tool, otherwise most players would run 3 speed recruit w/ the r4c.

@@drjamaymay405 you forgot every gun in the original recruit had NO atachments (includng sights) and they were restricted to a specific "Organization" (Can't remember what they were actually called) some orgs had 2 speed 2 armor with specific weapons selection, other had 1 speed 3 armor with also a specific weapon selection besides, who the hell is going to TRYHARD RECRUIT? (well,maybe me a little if i could have used him in ranked back in the day with my friends), i loved original recruit because i could use *almost* whatever i wanted (couldnt have access to newly added gadgets and DLC guns) and look like a little goofball, rare cases when everyone goes recruit just because i picked him up first i just wanted THAT Recruit back with all of the flexibility of choice in weapons and gadgets with the mentioned downsides he had originally Most importantely, MY SHIELD RECRUIT

Honestly i think the replacment for recruit is better because it made it where you could customize your guns and not have to be quick with it, plus i love flashes and nades i got my soldier build instead of constantly needing to haul ass to get my customs on, also you get two gadegets instead of one.

So recruit used to be something only accessible in the noncompetitive modes. You could get your whole team on him at once and you could get pretty much any gadget as both your secondary gadget and your unique. I.e. flash bangs and frags, breach charges and claymores, etc. Contrary to other characters that have a gadget and a unique ability/gadget that only that character can get

This is why I loved Recruit. No special gimicks, no dipshit abilities, no time needed to get used to the character, always available and easy to pick up. Just a plain dude with a gun and gadgets. Nothing more. Nothing less. It was perfect. Recruit is what the Rainbow Six series embodied. Removing him is a sign that this is no longer Rainbow Six. Its just Siege. What once was a tactical fps has now become nothing more than (arguably) a hero shooter. Good riddance.

loved? Recruit still works the same way, you get 2 secondary gadgets and basic weapons. siege was always a hero shooter anyways. In fact, you could argue it was ever more gimmicky early on with lean/strafe abuse. the game is significantly slower now.
