Remembering 'The Intimidator,' Dave Wilcox: 1942-2023

The football world today is celebrating the life and career of Dave Wilcox, an outside linebacker known as “The Intimidator” for his toughness, tackling ferocity and ability to neutralize opponents’ running and passing attacks over 11 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. Wilcox died April 19, 2023, at the age of 80.

Wilcox was a terrific player for the 49ers. I enjoyed watching him play at Candlestick.

Wilcox saying those stories brings tears especially with Gale Sayers because they are both no longer with us. Hopefully they are happy together now

I ws there in 2000 and what a great thtill it was for this lifelong Niners fan to get the great Dave Wilcox finally get inducted.
