Why does anyone NEED military style assault weapons? Maybe so they can fight for their rights and land and not be completely crushed by the state.

There are so many historical events. We can't teach them all. I don't think a blockade for a gold course is a big enough event that teaches a lot of history.

@@lukebowlby3848 When was the last historical event that happened where Canada felt they needed to deploy thousands of troops against Indigenous people defending their lands? If noone knows historical events like this then they're going to be ignorant to the fact that Canadians are just settlers and guests on Turtle Island, and if they step out of line First Nations are willing to stand up for themselves.

What the colonizers, the government, and let's not forget the church, have done to the Indigenous People of Canada is simply disgusting, horrific, and shameful. The issue involving the Ancestral Land in Oka should have been resolved a long time ago.

0:11 I find it tragic that people would respond in a manner that of a child would have. Mulroney was no racist (didn't call anyone terrorists or criminals) it would be the opposite of his character to do so or it would look really weird for someone who was a very strong advocate for abolishing apartheid in South Africa.

"We are the peaceful ones," the Mohawk woman said. Not how I remember it. I do remember Mohawk people, who after being promised that no Canadian soldier would go beyond the barricade, would stage three men on one side of the razor wire and three men on the other end of the razor wire. Then run over, grab one us and drag us onto their side and beat us. Ah yes! The proud, noble, brave "people of the pine.!"

@@bongo351 Ummm What do you mean by "cope"? As for "settler," I'm in no way saying that colonization was right. It should have never happened. Do you think soldiers like us were the cause of it? We showed nothing but respect for the Mohawks. We had ROEs and The majority of the Mohawks at Oka were respectful to us. Then there was "Lasagna" and the cowards. All of whom were from America. They had no respect for the Canadian Mohawks, let alone us. Before you say "Mohawks are not American or Canadian," tell that to the them. Because all they did was act like typical Yanks.
