I had the chance to see him in concert and I'll always treasure that. The end of an era. RIP Mr. Bennett.

Iwill never forget the song The Shadow of your smiile. He touched everyones heart. God Bless him. I was born in 52 my MoM was a jazz singer and I had the pleasure of being exposed to our most talented Singers. I know the Angels carried him into paradise.

Over the decades I've heard many people who had various levels of interactions with Tony, long and short, and they've all said he was really, truly, a decent and very nice man. He did love to make people happy by performing for them. but I suspect his favorite occupation was making art, and his art was/is really quite beautiful. RIP Tony, and condolences to his family and his many friends.

"1961, Bennett, a New Yorker, was performing at the SF Fairmont Hotel's Venetian Room where he met Ralph Sharon, a pianist at the hotel. Ralph thought the song "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," would be a perfect fit for Bennett's style and voice." It's Bennett's only connection with SF. He always lived in NYC/East Coast. Interesting.

Juliette Goodrich Rocks! I love her reports! I learned from her that the Covid shots in the begging ~ were researched at Stanford University as a treatment for Long Covid. I got mine at home, and my LC went away ... Kudos to Juliette Goodrich 🎉🎉🎉

JOHNNY HARTMAN departed in 83. He was miles ahead from this man. Erraneously, he was also called The Black Sinatra. He was miles ahead and above also from that man. 18 topnotch jazz vocal lps nearly without a hint of white pop influence, the crown-jewel being the 63 album w Trane. Where was the mainstream media mourning him ? On the moon ! Equal rights ? And once there was also EARL COLEMAN - 5 lps in 35 years; saw him @ Northsea JF 87. Suggest listen the Big Joe Turner version from 1976 on his Pablo lp of "I left my heart (under the urban removal of the Fillmore ..)." etc. He was also an out-of-the-citier, like T.B. but captured the essence of the ...hymn. Similarly, Buddy Guy :"Hello, San Francisco" (1970) on Vgrd. Saludos desde 🇫🇮

It's a very different San Francisco now. Shootings in North Beach adds to the already high crime-ridden city. I am sure if he was aware of the insanity of the city, he would think twice about leaving his heart in dangerous SF.

Everyone cashing in on the death of Tony Bennett the owner of the Italian restaurant shows no respect. You tell the story short and sweet you don't advertise your raviolis this is about the passing of a great singer not telling people about the food being sold on the menu. Media is to blame as well for letting the story go on the air.

@@kanank13 This has nothing to do with being holy it's common sense not to advertise your food menu when the subject is about the passing of someone.
