Same here, his creativity and talent was so inspirational, I love the human too, he often told dark stories, but he was a human being with a big heart, he knew how to bring out the best in actors, and he never took his audience for fools. With him, we were always promised to be surprised and moved from the inside. Even though we knew in advance that it would take several viewings and research to understand our own version of the story, the finality of understanding the whole story was not so important, there was no need to take notes, the path to get there was always a real pleasure. For me, Twin Peaks season 3 is a masterpiece. I've laughed, I've cried, I've been stunned several times, and I never tire of watching it again and again. David had this extraordinary ability to speak directly to our unconscious and to the dream part of us. very few artists have this ability.

Twin peaks,was shocking to me,some Hungarian Americans thought it is a good idea to bring it in and translate it,most likely to bypass mandatory legal requirements on age restrictions and regulations, Hungary had no regulation on content and was still in the process on defying a national identity after it pledged the introduction of democratic values,I was only 15years old when I saw twin peaks and I can tell you,that the original intention of everyone involved included immigration and participation in the promotion of American values in a sugar coated version ,twin peaks is not for children I was a child when adults has targeted my view of the world in an attempt to manipulate my values,so the death of Lynch to me a closure long time to come,the only said thing about this that it couldn't come sooner.

I remember David, in an interview years ago, said that at one point, he was worried that he might be really crazy because of his thoughts and dreams, and ideas, so he went to a psychotherapist At one point, he asked, if they could help him, would that diminish his visions and creativity? When the shrink said probably, yes, David thanked him and walked out. He never went back... And for that, we can be thankful ❤
@Xiroi874 сағат бұрын
That makes no sense at all and I find it hard to believe that's remotely true. The red room in the woods in Twin Peaks is proof he was familiar with Jung. He was simply the greatest and most influential american filmmaker alive with Scorsese. "Eraserhead" was UNIQUE, "The Elephant Man" is one of the most perfect films ever shot (along with "Barry Lyndon"), Blue Velvet" was a revolution in American cinema (and without "Wild At Heart" there would be NO Tarantino if you ask me !), and it is stil an absolute masterpiece that will stand the test of time. "Twin Peaks" made TV series become something else, something different, cinematographic (like in a very different genre "Miami Vice" by Michael Mann). I also ADORE "Lost Highway", and his two last films for the cinema ("Mulholland Drive" and "Inland Empire"), two daring and fascinating works of art I can watch over and over and still discover things I did not notice !! And let's not forget of course the insanely ambitious and weird and funny and brilliant "season 3" of "Twin Peaks" (the Return) in 2017, with what is probably the most ambitious and beautiful and weirdest and poetic and craziest hour of art in TV history : the episode 8 !!! :) Anyway I'm very sad, and I hope the world of cinema (and art in general) realized the immense loss his death is !!! There will never be anyone else as influential and innovative and important for pop culture as him in US cinema IMHO (Tim Burton is not as genius, and Tarantino is great but much more B movie oriented, while David Lynch was the son of Kubrick, Fellini, Bergman, Tati !!). RIP dear mister Lynch ! (forgive me if my english is not perfect I'm french actually ;)
