1 and 2 were both amazing in different ways. it was so sad to see what they did with Legion and how that probably killed the franchise
@rebirth26 Жыл бұрын
I don't get the hate for Legion... DedSec is based off Anonymous. There isn't one single person that claims to be Anonymous , it's anyone and everyone that can hack. Hell, the name "Legion" stems from their slogan. "We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive." So Legion makes complete sense. Watch Dogs 1 started it off with a small group, they grew with Watch Dogs 2 and by Legion, it was anyone and everyone.
@allopic3764 Жыл бұрын
@@rebirth26 TLDR: I loved it, but it’s deeply flawed. I really liked it… but then I tried wd2 and it’s s night and day difference, gameplay wise at least: legion feels like a generic tps with occasional hacking, interactivity with the city and its infrastructure is pretty lacking, shooting feels less impactful than it used to in 1 and 2, driving is way too smooth, every vehicle handles like a go kart and you merely feel the difference, the recruitment system had very few “unique” missions to the point that I just skipped them entirely via the deep profiler, hacking was oversimplified to a level where you only needed weapon jam and the disruption to stun enemies and go for easier kills… and the list goes on. I almost hit 1k hours in this game, especially thanks to the online and its battle pass system: grindy but not unbearable like most other games. Story took a hit too, it feels like they tried way too many things at the same time, and Sabine’s betrayal was so obvious that I wasn’t even surprised, her motivations? Who the hell knows… It also had a lot of great stuff though, the recruits, while still very very limited in their skillset, were a nice addition and building your own “legion”, despite the fact that it can feel like a bit of a chore at times, felt great; the soundtrack was awesome, and so were some chapters of the story, SIRS in particular, and Bagley was great too. Updates all introduced significant changes to the game and were much appreciated (except for the melee nerf, fuck that thing), the dlc characters also had a unique twist, and some of them had a lot more potential than it was shown in the game, the prime example is Mina and her powers. I would recommend the game, for a cheap price, if it invested more into its roleplaying component I feel like it could have really taken off.
@jakobicobb3447 Жыл бұрын
@@rebirth26legion was almost nothing like the first 2 and there were no uniqueness to the characters, yes its cool you can play as anyone but... it jyst felt boring, not to mention the customization was really bland compared to WD2, and the gun selection, there were so many guns in WD2 and then you go to WD3 and it was either an AK, G36, D.50, Glock, Suppressed Sig, there wasn't really anything there. WD1 felt like a John Wick game, a vigilante on a revenge arc, WD2 felt like the stereotypical underground hacker game especially when played stealthy. WD3 just felt empty, bland story, bland gameplay, bland parkour, bland customization, bland gun variety.

I wanted to like legion so bad but just couldn't... Maybe the next one will be a combination of the best parts of 1 and 2. @jakobicobb3447 yeah, watch dogs 2 was perfect with the amount of non-lethal guns. Legion took it too far. The point of the non-lethal weapons was never to actually use them but just to troll around.

Watch Dogs 2 is honestly my 2nd favorite game of all time. Right behind Red Dead Redemption 2 and right in front of Spider-Man 2018 (most likely gonna be replaced Spider-Man 2 in a few days). The memories I have with this are all amazing, the world is alive, thriving and beautiful, the graphics hold up to this day, the story is fun and interesting, the side content is fun as well, the online is still surprisingly thriving and the player base is not toxic, the parkour is great and very well done, the vehicles, hacks, tools, weapons, etc. Are all amazing and has so much variety. Andthe characters are amazing Marcus, Josh, Wrench, Ray, Horatio, Sitara are all amazing characters I've fell in love with since the game dropped. Also can't forget the amazing outfit options and DLC's. EVERYTHING is an improvement over Watch Dogs 1. I've beat this game only 3 times in 7 years because I love to cherish it. I wish I could play this game for the first time again. Oh and the music and soundtrack in WD2 is just phenomenal Iwouldn't care if my game took an hour to load I could lay in bed and listen to this song for hours while looking at the beautiful art and the nice little animation in the middle. I used to play it religiously with a friend I don't talk to anymore. But I still play it a lot by myself. Ubisoft truly out did themselves with this game and I will forever love and defend it.

A lot of other games feel stiff like the car only does what you tell it to when you tell it to, but in reality, there's skid, slide, play, and so on. There's something I love about the sense of free-ness that roaming around w/ onfoot radio provides (and it's a bummer Legion got rid of that aspect) esp. given the dystopian backdrop. Love the multiple playstyle approach, satire and lore (though I still need to catch up on the last couple of books) Ubi seems to be going through a difficult time, hopefully they come around but I've noticed the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws has a lot of WD's DNA in it.

Hell yeah, the return of Bread! The funniest thing for me with Watch Dogs 1 was that when it was coming out was right as I was getting seriously into gaming, so I missed most of the hype build up. I just saw a trailer or two right before it dropped, thought it looked cool, played it, and absolutely loved it! I've never understood the complaints about the tone, it was right up my alley. I wanted the dark, gritty, criminal underworld vibe, and I thought it was perfect. Subsequently, I despised WD2 on launch. Everything about the characters and tone was just wrong for me. Gameplay was great, but I just could not get attached to anything happening. But, as you say, maybe its time to swing back around and give it another chance. And then I havent even played Legion. But, with the Aiden DLC, I could be tempted. If it was a cheap package anyway. Anyway, great to see you back Brett, hope all is well and hope to see around for the long haul!

the dude is back! I 100% agree with what you said about both games. Watch_Dogs for me was amazing. I didn't buy in into the whole hype. All I knew that this was an open world game with hacking and a badass main character. I really enjoyed it and just like you said: for a brand new IP, Ubisoft did a fantastic job. New IPs are a big risk, that is why we have a ton of Call of Dutys, Assassin's Creeds. Watch_Dogs 2 has the best gameplay, world and AI. Just like in your video, I've seen a ton of situations where people were fighting, arguing, scaring each other, all random, non-scripted events. Hacking is the best. You can do so much with it. For Legion, all I wanted, was Watch_Dogs 2 gameplay but with Watch_Dogs 1 world building and dark, gritty, serious tone of a story but Ubisoft took one step forward and three steps back, missing vital features that were in the original Watch_Dogs. Can't wait for your Legion video

Seeing your channel come back up in my notifications was such a pleasant surprise! I've had the bell on for all videos but it's been so long I'd almost forgotten about you, but seeing you again brought back so many happy memories of being excited for the game, obsessively watching your videos, and even getting hyped for Legion... I'm really looking forward to your opinion on WDL, it's such a flawed game but I think it has these absurdly good small moments that are so infrequent as to make it not worth it. It needs a lot of work on your end to "fill in the gaps," and that's not totally fair for a game dev to do. At least not Ubisoft with their BIG MEATY CLAWS that handle nuance with hammers. Hope you're doing great personally!
