@@Amirdokht There are a lot of different places online you can buy the book/audiobook or download. I'm afraid I can't suggest one because it would imply that I am a seller from a certain company. I just finished reading the book, and l hope you consider uploading the rest. Many of Sinéad's Gen X longtime fans are wishing we could go back and surround her with the love and care she needed in life. Hearing her talk about the things we just read keeps her energy here with some of us who have struggles with CPTSD, depression, chronic medical conditions- much like Sinéad did. She had also become agorophobic.. We HAVE to take care of each other...

I think that is a reason many people seek fame. However, not everyone who becomes famous is loved and famous all over the world. To me, Sinead was different. I have never heard anyone else who could sing so beautifully. Her voice changes to express a variety of emotions. It goes from sounding so angelic to so powerful and angry. Then you have who she was as a person. So sensitive with so much courage, speaking out against all injustices everywhere. So much empathy.
@ciaraskeleton Жыл бұрын
Sinead didn't seek fame to be loved, and people treated her horrifically when she was famous. They shunned her, laughed at her, snubbed her. She loved music and Telling the blatant truth through it. She didn't let mass amounts of hate and shaming that stop her from sharing the message that she was on this earth to share. She did not have a good life, or an easy life. She did not die feeling loved. She essentially sacrificed' her happiness in order to speak the truth using the platform she had. People were not nice to her, over and over again she was failed by us, by society, by the system, by her family, and then she lost her son to suicide. It's not romantic childlike innocence, she told the truth and the world chewed her up and spat her out, and we should be ashamed. We should learn from this, to listen, to women like Sinead. She suffered horrendously for most of her life. As much as she wanted to be loved she consistently sacrificed that, in order to do the right thing by her morals. That is fucking real strength. People love her because she was a rebel, and she spoke up when no one else would. Because she was talented, intelligent, she spoke up even when her hands were shaking, and everyone was against her, she was unfathomably brave. I detest that people might view her as her childhood trauma, rather than everything she was despite her pain. Or view her as childlike and naive. She was neither, she was a full and multifaceted, passionate human being, and we once again didn't care enough until she passed.

Thank you for doing this 💙. I fully get why you want people to listen to her story. I bought the book as an audio and have been playing it again and again, her "most important song", because of so many things I could relate to personally, but also, still having her voice narrating her own story felt like holding her for a little bit longer; it's maybe helpful for those who feel they need to cope and need closure. Sinéad meant a so much to many people, made a huge impact in this world. To me, she also is the melodious, tender, fragile, angry and hurt voice of Ireland, and I have the impression, Eire is realising this...finally...

Thank you so much for your comment. The world was so lucky to have her in so many ways. I feel that hearing her speak on her life was a gift she left us. This is her speaking her truth instead of others speaking it for her. There are just parts in the book that I feel should be out there, especially the lack of good mental health help. It's not common knowledge that Dr. Phil exploited her. He didn't only not help her but hurt her further. I just feel strongly about that needing to be out there.

@@HearMyWords I have seen her Dr. Phil "session" - which was horrible to start as no serious therapy should be televised, but it was, and I saw it. Her undying love for her mother is what was killing Sinead. She had Stockholm Syndrome, as many abused and neglected children do. They end up killing them selves (or others) for the love of their parents (which is never requited). Dr. Phil said it was Sinead who wanted that session filmed, in order to help other people. I am most of the way through it, and to me it doesn’t seem too bad honestly. But she needed to be challenged more on her love for her mother. Loving her abuser meant she was not loving herself. Alice Miller explains in her books - this seems like the “drama of the gifted child” (one of her titles) to a tee.

I felt like that too.... as a fan I felt like I failed her by not paying close enough attention. I'm sure people who knew her and were close to her feel it so much more. I feel all I can do now is reach out to more people and spread the love around. She really did speak out for groups of people who are marginalized and abused in our society. She knew how that felt and had such empathy for those feeling the same. I really feel your true sadness and empathy for her. Thank you so much for commenting.

It is only the ignorant and uneducated who judges someone who is just trying to live their lives without hurting anyone. My ancestors are from Cork, Ireland. 💚
