I'm 2 years late to comment this, listening to wills covers with August 15th coming up in 2021... I started my big "vocaloid" phase in like 8th grade, it was practically all I would listen to. And through that I discovered kagepro. It's where I got my online alias from too after all, I love the characters, sidu's art, jins music, all of it has helped me with various dips in my life mentally that I'm still experiencing. Music, stories, and games are really all that keep me pushing forward, if I didnt have these things to listen to or get lost in then I dont know what I'd be like, and kagepro is a huge piece of that. August 15th is like a national holiday for me at this point since it always brings me back here, even if I havent been listening to it for a while before then.

Here's my explanation of the events/analysis of the song. The lyrics can be a bit vague and obscure at times which isn't helped by the lack of an official video, but in short, it is a song about Shintaro finally facing and coming to terms with the death of Ayano as well as deciding to move forward. The song seems to takes place during Lost Time Memory. So, let's start out with the title "Remind Blue", which refers to the fact that the song happens while Shintaro is looking toward the sky while reminiscing about his past, feeling as if its presence is what causes him to remember. it's not directly stated in the song, but it is, in fact, his "Retaining Eyes" which causes him to remember. Stanzas 1-3 are the prologue of the song, describing what leads up to Shintaro finally remembering his past. it's a bright summer day, and everyone is happy and carefree, Shintaro is looking towards the bright blue sky as a gust of wind strikes him causing him to see clips of his past flashing before his eyes. It Is a dark and unpleasant memory, but Shintaro decides not to look away and face the memory head-on so. As he faces the memory, he finally starts to recall Ayano's smiling face, the Ayano in his mind starts telling him about the memories he was running away from. Before we continue, it is important to note that the Ayano he is speaking to here as well as in Lost Time Memory isn't the real Ayano, but his snake of Retaining Eyes impersonating her to try and get him to remember. Stanzas 4-9 describe Shintaro coming face-to-face with his past. The Snake tells him everything, all the good things as well as the bad that he had repressed, and that he had in fact never forgotten them and was carrying them in his heart all this time. It proceeds to remind him why he withdrew from society after Ayano's death (i.e. the events of Toumei Answer). Having started to forget Ayano himself, like everyone else in his class, he vowed to distance himself from everyone and keep her memory alive. But it was too painful for him to continue doing this so in the end he repressed the painful memories and continued living his shut-in life while wallowing in misery. The Snake tells since he has decided to face Ayano's death head-on as well as his pitiful reaction to it, he will have to live with this shadow for the rest of his life. He then reminisces about his last encounter with Ayano, and how after her death he had denied his feelings for her and how much he truly cared. Instead, He went about trying to convince himself that everything was fine and that he was happy in his misery. As the vision finally comes to an end, Shintaro looks back on the pathetic life that he has led, and how immaturely he had acted. he feels as if he is being suffocated by the gravity of his mistakes and realizes how foolish it had been to try to run away from his past. As the gust of wind passes by and he is pulled back to the present day, he is filled with a newfound sense of purpose and desire to set things right. Stanza 10 describes the epilogue. Shintaro having realized the depth of his love for Ayano vows to never run away from the painful memories of his past, and to set things right once and for all ~ The song truly shows the depth of Shintaro's remorse, and how much he has changed throughout the course of the series... This song is very deeply layered, and there were a bunch of things that I didn't get around to explain, but hopefully you enjoyed this frankly way too long comment… It's probably also at this point I should point out that at this point there isn't an official explanation as to the the events of the song, and that this is purely the way I interpret Will's lyrics. So even if I'm quite confident in my analysis, take everything with a grain of salt ;) Thank you Will for this wonderful song, both the lyrics and the singing was incredible. I'm so thankful for the fact that someone besides Juby has started covering this amazing series! Keep up the amazing work!

To me this sounds and looks like a song about Shintaro and Ene, because they're both so closely tied to each other. It's Ene, really, that is sort of the catalyst of Shintaro becoming either Black Shintaro or Real Shintaro (Outer Science ending vs. Summertime Record). Black Shintaro is represented by only wearing black and having bags under his eyes, which have less vibrance and life in them than Real Shintaro. Black Shintaro is the Shintaro that decided to never go out into the real world, and to destroy the one person he had left fighting for him (Ene). His grief over Ayano's death and his guilt over what he does to Ene are what keep him trapped in his room and, eventually, in the Haze, for good. When he reaches the haze, Black Shintaro can see Ayano and see he's finally with her again, which is what he wanted all along, so much that he killed an innocent girl to get there. I think it's really, really interesting towards the end of the song where you see Real Shintaro and Black Shintaro standing together, and both of them are faced with the prospect of Ayano leaving the Haze. I think at this point, Real Shintaro is getting her out of the Haze or leaving the Haze himself to go off into the final confrontation with Kuroha; he chooses to leave the world and the life he could have with her, miserable as it is, to do what's right and face reality and all that comes with it. Black Shintaro doesn't do that. He sees Ayano about to leave the Haze, and he takes off running after her. Black Shintaro would rather stay in the Haze and never face reality again than lose the girl he loves. I think that's the critical point in this, as it perfectly parallels the differences between Real Shintaro and Black Shintaro. In leaving the Haze, Real Shintaro escapes a miserable and meaningless existence clinging to memories of Ayano, and faces the real world again. This mirrors what he did in the Summertime Record route, when he leaves his room to go with Ene to get a new computer and comes face to face with the Mekakushi Dan. This allows him to eventually move on from his guilt and to reconnect with reality. He never forgets Ayano, but he doesn't chain himself to the memories of her either. It's interesting to note here too that the title of the song is "Remind Blue", and Ene's symbol color throughout the series was blue. I think that reinforces how important she is to Shintaro's story, because eventually it's her presence that allows him to go out and make that critical change in his life (in both endings, really.) What I really like about this series is that, in each of these characters' stories, but especially with Shintaro and the Kids, an important message they all have to learn is how to move on from the past and the people that hurt you. They all grow up thinking that they are flawed or wrong or don't belong in some way, but it's through the Dan that they learn to -- not necessarily forget these things, but to grow around and eventually grow past them. Clinging to the memories of the people you love, but maybe have changed or just aren't around anymore,and refusing to face the new realities before you will stunt your growth as a person. Those memories might be comforting, and it's important to not lose sight of who you used to be or where you came from, but like with Shintaro trying to cling to his memories of Ayano rather than go out and face the world again, you can't let those memories consume you.

hey just wanted to say this is probably my favorite cover of any kagepro song ever, the care you put into writing translyrics is apparent and i really respect you for that. sometimes it can feel like people don't even attempt to write good lyrics in the interest in the interest of "staying true to the original" and that always results in something worse than just reading subtitles but you really create something new and artful in every one of your covers i've seen. keep up the great work.

I think it is a music about Yuukei Quartet. I was looking at Remind blue lyrics again, and some parts of the music talks about "memories painted in the sky" and "then you said goodbye" or something like that, (probably Shintaro and Ayano). BUT in the first part, it also says something about music, maybe referring to Takane and Haruka. So, what if Remind Blue is a Yuukei quartet song in general (like, a part of the music for Takane, another one for Shintaro, and they are remembering their crushes)??
