@@ridgerunneroutdoors2423 That reminds me of the time I had a part-time job at Wal-mart in sporting goods and we had all those yellow/tan(?) colored UMC Rem. boxes of .222 Remington and .300 Savage for pretty cheap as I recall. Damned if you even see either of those two anywhere anymore. That was back in the late nineties which doesn't seem so long ago. Just blink and 'bang!, everything changed.

Back about 1981 I found a 722 in the used rack at my local outdoor store. It was chambered in .222 and I paid $85 for it. I took it to the local gravel pit and put the target on a 4 x4 piece of wood paneling my dad had left over from refinishing the basement. I bore sighted the best I could, then went back 100 yds. and fired 5 rounds. None of them hit the target. But there was a hole the size of a quarter in that wood paneling just off the lower left corner of the target. I made my scope adjustments and it moved that quarter sized hole right to the middle of the bullseye. Still have it. Unfortunately, all the coyotes and fox live in town now because they've built houses on all the farms of the guys I went to school with.

Try the CCI 450 Small rifle Magnum with 8208.

We've had good accuracy out of different 52 gr. bullets with Win. 748 and Hodgdon H322.

*For Velocity with accuracy... with a long barrel... try VARGET. You should be able to safely gently compress VARGET {or use a 100% available space case fill--while allowing space for bullet} with reasonable bullet weights in 222 Remington.*

My 788 in 222 shoots the 36 grain vg extremely well. Imr 4198 gives me the best results

*The LONG NECK of that cartridge "compared to most others" may contribute to accuracy. 7mmx57 Mauser a.k.a. 275 Rigby shares the same long neck in scaled up dimensions. The 7x57 actually came first.... so, your 222 Remington is a shrunken version of the classic and known for accuracy 7x57.*

What powder did you use I’ve used BL-C(2) got good accuracy cloverleaf at 100 but I’ve think that imr4198 should be a good powder also

Cfe 223 powder i have found that ramshot tac with 55 vmax is exceptionally accurate for a hevier bullet.thank you for watching.

I think the ppc bucks wind better than 222, but not more accurate.

I will gladly trade you a new 223 Remington for that old broken down 722. You’re looking for more velocity bigger case capacity is necessary.

Oh on speer load data they show accurate powders 2520 giving 223 velocity in 222 with 55 grain bullets

At the time i filmed that i only had my phone to film with so not enough zoom now i have a better camera that can zoom in to 100 and 200 yds
