I have a 7400 carbine in 30-06 that I got in 1986. It is my deer rifle and I have had no problems with it. It is a great deer rifle.

Bought a 7400 in 270 caliber from Bass Pro in about 2003. I have never had any problems with it whatsoever. It's been a great rifle, taken numerous deer with it.

Nice! I’m glad you had a positive experience with the Remington 7400

My 7400 3006, never hiccups. However, I always carefully clean her and lubricate her. The most important thing in weapons is proper care. Anyone whose life depended on his rifle would confirm my words.

Absolutely I agree. Thank you for your advice!

I wish they'd make guns like these still. Maybe even one that takes AR mags but doesn't look like one.
@anthonyross92765 жыл бұрын
Do not treat these like a poor mans AR. Thats where the reliability issues come in with these. They are not meant to be shot for hundreds of rounds in rapid succession. The actions WILL fail. Treat it like a hunting rifle you will have no issues.

I think that's more for the older models of 7400 and the 742 and 760. Keeping it clean and disassembling it is key
@deerhntr981656 жыл бұрын
Keep the chamber CLEAN and you should not have any issues.

They upgraded to the 750 model they did not stop making them. The model 74,740,742,7400,750. All part of the same series of semi auto sporting rifles.

Thank you! I looked it up it looks like you are correct. I have just never seen a brand new one being sold.

I brought a scoped Remmington 7400 in 30-06 for 150.00dollars. It's a great rifle. What I found with mine its particular about the ammo you run in it for what ever reason it will jam if you shoot remmington ammo out of it it works great with winchester, Federal or any other brand just not Remmington.
@brenden5614 жыл бұрын
wow that’s so ironic that a remington rifle doesn’t like remington ammo lol. but still for $150 that’s an amazing deal, definitely worth it

i have a 7400 in 270 win i read where people would say they will jam 740 and 742 would if been shot alot receiver would wear out remington fixed the problem with 7400 new receiver and bolt hope that helps

What groups do u get out of your 7400
@brenden5617 жыл бұрын
The furthest I have ever shot it was 200 yards and I shot at a torso sizes piece of steel and hit it every time without trying to really make a group. I'm not a great shot the gun is more accurate then I am

had one once when i was 14 and it jammed after the first shot every time! what a Beautiful gun it was, all hard wood stock with engravings everywhere! should have kept it for wall art!thats how Beautiful it was! but ultimately traded for the 760 Game Master .308 and its by far my FAVORITE rifle of all time ( that i've used) Im left handed shooter so pump is just so Natural to me! and is faster than any other action anyways (besides Semi Auto)

I inherited my grandfather's 7400 243. It had hardly been shot, immaculate walnut stock etc. I've killed 2 deer and 2 hogs with it, kinda feel guilty about taking something so pretty out in the woods
@brenden5614 жыл бұрын
your grandfather would love to hear you shot deer and hog with it much more than if it just sat in a safe and collected dust. you are making him proud.
@stephenedwards50384 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's my problem, My dad's 742 bdl is a work of art, gorgeous.. I just don't want to scratch it.. only get it out under certain conditions, use other guns for other purposes.. I know, but it's personal.

Bought a brand-new rem750 and did nothing but jam. Rem gave me my money back.

I passed this gun up for a new Model 700 in 30-06 and now I feel like I made the wrong choice.
@loucypher10604 жыл бұрын
You didn't. 700 is the gold standard for bolt-actions. Reliable (which is a crapshoot for Remington, honestly) and probably the most customizable bolt-action on the market, with a number of different chassis for it, from deer hunter, to tacticool sniper. Plus they hold their value pretty well.

"I wondered myself and I had to do some checking based on the sales or sales were pretty steady and high however it was one of the exemptions that were few in the proposed Democratic assault weapons ban to ban just about every semi-automatic rifle there is some sort of direct correlation with that."

The weakest part of this 7400 model is the lever on the action. It will break over time probably more than once depending on he much it is used and fired. Poor design
@brenden5614 жыл бұрын
that’s interesting i’ll have to handle mine with greater care, thank you for the information

@@brenden561 Mr.Lee I really like your version of this Rifle! I've been looking for this one for quite some time! What is kind of Barrel do you have on it and what is the length of the Barrel? Also what kind of Stock do you have on it? If I buy one I want it to be just like this one. The only differences being I want a Scope with an RMR on top plus I would leave my iron sights on it!
@spockspock3 жыл бұрын
Shit, if you can afford to wear out a 7400.. knock yourself out. Then buy another one.
