I really don’t understand why people have an issue with a pressure gauge being at the end of the air cylinder, if you’re stupid enough to point a loaded rifle at your face while checking the pressure, then you should not be allowed anywhere near one.

Remington has slapped their name on the Snowpeak M25W. I own one of the M25's in 7.62 (.30 cal) in a synthetic stock which is putting out a whopping 90 ft lbs of energy and shoots FX Hybrid slugs very well at 50 yds. Say what you want the Chinese can and do make a descent air rifle regulated for less than most other manufacturers.

Morning all. That’s a handsome looking rifle with clean lines. Simple operation (much like myself) and plenty accurate enough (unlike myself!). I do question the wisdom of supplying poor starter scopes when there are plenty of decent budget scopes around nowadays, many reviewed by yourself Andy. I reckon suppliers would be better off dropping a few quid off the price of their rifles.
@stephencope717810 күн бұрын
A user could get the impression that the accuracy is poor when supplying such basic scopes...knock off £30 from the price!!

5:44 Here goes a cool story.... Some years ago i used to work at a hunting, fishing, and shooting sports store and i was the responsible for the RMA\warranty and maintenance department for the airguns and airsoft. There was this time that i received an entry level springer carbine that the owner manage to fill half of the barrel with 4.5 cal pellets. Almost 20cm of lead inside the rifling and stuck in a way that was not possilbe to remove, so we replaced the barrel. There was another time that the situation was almost the same, there was less pellets but was a round file inside of the barrel that the owner tried to use to force the pellets out. This time we used a gas torch to heat the barrel, melt the lead to remove the blocking and recover the file (yes, the owner wanted it back) and see if there was a possibility that the barrel was not damage in the process. Unfortunately the rifling was damaged by the file and the barrel has to be replaced.

Yes, until something goes wrong and you can't easily get spares. Also China has a terrible record when it comes to human rights for its work force. There are more considerations needed before buying a cheap air gun.

China can produce Olympic quality air rifles. It's all about what the market is willing to pay. Expensive Swiss watches actually have Chinese made movements/parts. Yup, even Rolex. As for not supporting China for ethical reasons, well it's kinda impossible to not support that in some way. Just like the petrol, plastic and electronic products you buy contribute to war and exploitation.

@HelgeJensen3 күн бұрын
It looks a lot like my Snowpeak M25, except for the stock. Mine came without any scope, but with a Nikko stirling, the accuracy is sufficient to do 60M bulls-eyes. It does need a steady air-supply to stay consistent. The sound is really quiet, I can shoot it alongside the pavement, with only a hedge separation -- and people mainly notice the plink onto the pellet collector.
@Kevin-mx1vi10 күн бұрын
Looks like a decent, practical, workhorse rifle (though I'd rather they didn't include a scope that's going straight in the bin) and though Andy said it was a little front heavy, when he held it with one hand it seemed pretty well balanced and its accuracy speaks for itself. If there's one thing that concerns me it's the aluminium bolt, because (having spent most of my life in engineering) I know that an aluminium part rubbing against steel is a bad combination that quickly turns to excessive wear. Would I buy one ? Yes, but I'd pay a lot of attention to making sure the bolt is well lubricated.
@brendonhughes458010 күн бұрын
Spot on advice there mate, if metals or alloys rub then you get friction, if you get friction then you get wear, drain your oil from your car engine and your talking minutes untill totall seizure, pcps use o rings for air tight seals so a good motor cycle o ring chain lube would last an air gunner a life time and keep the moving parts tip top ( used sparingly of course)

Don't mind the name; might just remember it better. Shot very accurate imo. Clearly, using only pellets, Andy carved out a bird-like hole into the target, along with eggs underneath. No mention of a regulator, so just a modernised /slightly restyled version of the SMK / Artemis M10/M11 with a silencer and yet another SMK brand name attached ? Not knocking it as I have (and am happy with) the earlier regulated M22 version with an SMK badge, but where does this move the game along compared to earlier versions ? Are you sure the bolt is aluminium ? The M22 is stainless steel.

I think I'd want to see a few years of consistency before touching a "Remmington branded" weapon again. With the Lyra K at the same price point and the far higher quality of trigger, bolt and magazines, I think there's a way to go to compete yet. We can see it functions but the bolt and magazine seemed graunchy at best. Do away with the pointless scope and drop the price and its a maybe. Id still rather pick up a PR900 for £150 less and about 1.5kg less... anyway that's my tuppence. As always thanks for the video Andy. My comment isn't with reference to this air rifle , but air rifles in general. I've had many air rifles in the past, mostly springers.. Please could you do a video showing an array of makes on how accurate they are if left alone for a few days with the 1st shot, as if your grabbing the gun to shoot vermin. Are all guns today accurate with the initial 1st shot, whether left for a few days or a few hours stored at room temperature. With today's technology has this phenomena gone?
