Remington Model 10 Unloading Tip

Just purchased a Remington model 10 this morning it was in great shape for $149 thank you instructions unloading shells out of the tubular magazine

Finally got mine yesterday.. it doesn’t fire out of battery or slam fire. Love it.

There's a little tab of metal that stops the shell from coming out. If you push it out of the way you never have to work the pump.

I also like the Remingtons. Nothing wrong with the model 12, but the Remington is smoother. I also find it fits me better.

Never even heard of this thing before. That'd be a perfect duck gun so you're not throwing shells everywhere. You could even hang a bag under it to make it easier to clean up after

Not bad ideas! This was Remingtons first pump shotgun design. They made a improved version called the Model 29 also. I have one coming already and will do a comparison when I can👍

@@ForestFirearms interesting that they started off with a weird system like that. My only pump gun I have is a model 12, 1913 production. Love that thing. Looks to be about the same spec as yours, with the huuuge barrel

I believe they went that route because they were trying to compete with the Winchester 1897 and solve issues they perceived in that design..chiefly how open it was for ingress of dirt and mud. I seen some of that language in a early ad for it at least

There should be a little tab on the side that holds the shells in the mag tube press it down and it will spring back into the loading gap.

@@guaporeturns9472 I actually have firearms but in my country (Austria) we cant have a Pump Action shotguns in general. They are illegal BUT we can have a semi shotgun like a Benelli M4 it's nuts i know..

@@patriks_surplus_kitchen5251 Yes a very strange law. Most pumps are American.. I wonder if that had anything to do with the decision? Importation issues? 🤷‍♂️

@@guaporeturns9472 Nah ist just the law. We can get a bunch of stuff from the US sorta...bunch stuff is on the market now also more and more companies who make the ar stuff pouring into the country.. They banned the pump ation shotguns in 1995/1996 until then it was just a shotgun. Since then there are about 5k still legally owned with a Special permit but they cant really sell them... not without a special permit and stuff.... and those permits are hard to get. FFL dealers sorta excludet and a handfull of other special permit holders but not the majority. just recently saw one guy with one but they don take them out often to a range ^^ XD

Does your model 10 fire out of battery? I’ve been hearing that they will fire if you pull the trigger with the bolt half open and safely off. Mine is coming so I don’t have access to it yet. Could you give it a try for me please?
