In this video, you will see how a rolling block rifle double set trigger works.
In the double set trigger mechanism, a complete secondary action, which when cocked by pulling the rear trigger transforms the front trigger to a hair trigger. When the front trigger is pulled, a spring powers a miniature hammer, multiplying the force of the actual trigger pull, allowing a very light touch to accomplish the release of the main sear. While the front trigger is always at the ready (requiring a ~4 pound pull), if one has the time, using the set trigger feature may allow for a more accurate long-distance shot because now front trigger requires only a ~4 ounce pull.
