I think going as unplug as possible really help her sound so much. She's got one of those hyper emotive voices. All that electric robbed so much from her sound. With the right producer or direction she might have made that work but this comes so naturally. Sometimes you gotta lean into the sound you got before you start exploring places you don't know how to get to yet.
