+Pun Boleh Today, I found Mike Oldfield's 1998 London live performance for the first time! I had never watched of this live performance before. I was very surprised to find that the medley [The Source of Secrets / Secrets / For above the Clouds], was in the same order as my [Remix 3]. I created a non-existent bar for the transition from [The Source of Secrets] to [Secrets], but the live performance was faithful to the album, so that bar was not there. If I had seen this live performance first, I might have created the medley exactly like this. I didn't know anything about it, so I expanded my own image and created few remix. This is the inside story of my editing. :)

@@commandtcommandv5462 This live performance was extraordinary indeed. :) To see the enthusiasm of the musicians and the reactions of the audience adds quite a lot to the story the music is telling. Mike Oldfield also played a version of Secrets / Far Above the Clouds (among others) at the 2012 Olympics, with very interesting variations, and of course an elaborate performance. Out of this world :)

@@commandtcommandv5462 Looks like my reply from last week either got lost or stuck in moderation or something? Anyway, I'll try again. :) That live performance must have been out of this world. Just watching the video is an experience, can't imagine what it must have been like to actually be there. Everything else aside - to have a song with the lyrics "You're the man in the rain" premiering in London, where of course it was raining the whole time - what a way to connect with your audience. :) But what really struck me was to see both the performers and the audience, it adds a lot of emotional depth. The way everyone (audience and performers alike) are so visibly enjoying the whole concert... always a joy to watch. Speaking of life performances playing variations... For the opening of the 2012 Olympics, Mike Oldfield played (among others) variations of Secrets / Far above the Clouds, with different transitions, and actors displaying the story of the song as a literal night mare, adding yet another layer to the whole experience. (those small bells near the end just before the bombastic tubular bells dispel the night mare... just brilliant :) (and, in a way, similar to your edits, which are all elaborating on the finale))

+Pun Boleh Thank you! Your comment, which was missing in the system, appears to have been restored. I was in a traffic accident in early 2012. I was hit by a car while walking on the blue signal pedestrian crossingand injured, and was at the lowest point in my life. After hearing your mention, I regret that I should have watched it, I don't even remember the opening ceremony of the Olympics that year. It was in August 2012 that I started trying to do something with my PC. There were only two edits point of a piece that combined short fragments. This was the beginning of music editing. Although, I had been playing with cassette tapes doing something similar since I was a child. :) I'm so grateful that you told me about Mike Oldfield's live. In the near future, I would like to watch the rainy live and Olympic performance. I think I will upload some videos based on the knowledge I gained there.
