0:59 Do you understand what dps is? It has a smaller magazine, but it reloads faster. When you factor in all the things that determine dps, dmg per bullet, fire rate, magazine size, and reload speed, it has the highest dps compared to all the other automatic rifles (besides the plasma cutter in short-medium range body shot dps). With the faster reload speed, you can keep the uptime to a mutator like momentum at maximum stacks all the way until you deplete all your ammo, because the quick reload allows you to refresh your stacks. Saying the Blackmaw AR-47 is your standard long gun is simply incorrect. It has one of the highest dps in the game, with the only slight downside being that the total dmg in reserves is around the 45th percentile in total dmg in reserves.

Very fair points. I realized after posting I failed to compliment the weapons faster than average reload speed. It may reload more but since it’s no where near as long as the other automatics it makes up for the smaller magazine size. I have a bias towards the other autos as is evident in how I addressed the AR in the beginning of its section. The weapon is good, apologies for missing the mark, I’ll try to be more considerate going forward with the other weapon videos.

I got 1k total level on remnant and every aesthetic unlock on 2 seperate accounts over the years. Maybe my favourite game of all time. I haven't tried rem2 yet. I've been so disappointed by devs in the last decade or so that I outright refuse to purchase games unless they're on gamepass or a massive sale. But this does look like a game i'll finally fork out for. Cheers for the uploads man.

If you loved the first game, you can blindly go into this sequel. It is everything Remnant was but better in every aspect in my opinion.

@raven75257

@@jroc1176 Well, I don't want to make a seven paragraph comment, so I'm just gonna mention all the main points of contention I've had with this game so far after over 100 hours and seeing almost everything there is in the game briefly (also please note that I do enjoy the game and would rate it 7/10, however I'm just dissapointed with lost potential). If you feel confused by some of my points, please ask away. So, anyway, in no particular order: - Optimization is abysmal and highly unreliable. Whoever thought that making a game around AI upscaling was a good idea should be fired, and I genuinely mean that phrase - Enemy variety is somehow worse in this one. Majority enemies are extremely basic and get boring really fast - Locations are hit or miss. It feels like all their effort went into Losomn. Nerud is incredibly boring to explore, though the missed potential for it genuinely hurts. - Build variety when playing on legendary took a massive hit. Don't get me wrong, there is a massive list of offensive options, but the amount of defensive options you have have been decimated - Removing armor bonuses was a mistake. See above for one of the reasons - COOP netcode is abysmal - Story might as well not exists. It's extremely basic and despite being very straight forward, it still leaves a lot more questions than answers - The game is a lot more grindy compared to the first one, making it a lot more annoying to try out new builds - Puzzles are fantastic, but quickly become a chore because they completely annihilate pacing of the game; And COOP puzzles in a game with no chat can go fuck themselves - Armor variety was murdered. There's now one best armor set in each weight category, and there's 0 reason to use any other (except for fashion of course) - I've yet to find a way to dissect why exactly it feels that way, but the RPG aspect of the game just feels more shallow in general. Setting up crit build in the first game felt completely different to elder armor, for example. It was a massive power redistribution. In R2 it just feels.. samey? Sure, making a crit in this build makes you more powerful as well, yet you don't really feel any different. Sure, your damage goes up, but you still play the same way. Please note, that many of those are not "massive" negatives, but all of them stack up to create an experience that is underwhelming. Still, I did enjoy my time with Remnant 2 (and I think it's a good game), but while it was an improvement in many area, those flaws made it a dissapointed sequel because now it plays more like a soulslike with RPG elements, compared to the first remnant which was more of an RPG.
@jroc1176
@jroc1176 Жыл бұрын
@@raven75257 You do have valid points in some respect, as it is personal opinion, but I will counter one aspect of armor being invalidated. The set bonuses have moved to Mutators and extra ring slots. Defense is theoretically “maxed” but can be further upgraded with Engineer’s trait. The devs wanted to give more freedom for fashion to players. I’m glad you enjoyed your time with it, though. We still have DLC to look forward to, which really helped flesh out the story in Remnant 1. Hopefully Remnant 2 can be given the same treatment. Spoiler Alert: Before I forget, to your point, we really never found out what happened to Ford… 🤔

I'm loving these videos and the interesting build ideas! Keep it up, man. I can waste a half an hour warching one guy rant on about his 'unique' HUGS build with akari, prop cord and zania's. Or i can spend 12-20 minutes catching your video with almost a dozen unique build ideas and specifics on making each gun work! That I can then take, play with and tweak. Thanks for the effort, btw

The blackmaw might be the most simple gun in R2(and in R1) but I am also a simple man. It just brings a little bit in all categories, and I like a balanced weapon. The assault rifle was my favorite weapon in R1, so I was satisfied when I saw Brabus selling it.
@WryHarpy

I loved the assault rifle in R1 too. It was the gold standard for rifles imo. I think it's honestly fine as it is in R2. I'd rather a gun be balanced than poor or OP.

The LMG is very, very balanced. It is at the 50th percentile in terms of DPS meaning it's pretty much in the middle. But it has some of the highest total dmg in reserves, which is funny because it feels like you're running out of ammo but really you have a lot.

My favorite thing to do with Plasma Cutter is to run an overheat/crit stacking build with Hyperconductor, Devloop, and Invader-Hunter. There's just barely enough crit to make it hit 100%, and that makes Devloop proc reliably for a double skill refund, which means infinite Void Cloak and Hunter's Focus. Only downside is melting through ammo faster than you can blink, but ten points in Deep Pockets should fix that.

I definitely could have used it, as that 20% increased ranged damaged sounds pretty nice. Since I wanted to use mod spam that’s why I used failsafe. Had I gone with buffing the ranged damage aspect of the weapon I probably would have used twisting wounds.

i get 225 to over 500 dmg with the assault rifle with my mod spam build...as soon as i use hotshot or corrosive rounds its very powerful. I did not know about the double bleed stacks! That's awesome. If I ever use the weapon again in a video I'll definitely bring that up. I wish that the damage buff could affect the mod as well, then it would be the best in slot mutator for it (outside like momentum in a crit setup).

I might try what another commenter suggested and show one build where I run something super optimal (Probably Hunter/Gunslinger) and then one off meta build for fun. That way viewers can get an idea of which ones are more worth it performance wise. We’ll see though! I always appreciate feedback!

Don't follow his suggestion Harpy! What I ❤ about your content is that it's not the, HERE IS THE UBER DESTROYER OF ALL THE THINGS, MWAAA HA HA! crap that's all over KZbin. @@WryHarpy That would be amazing! My intention was not to be nosy or super-critical as I do like your fun build Ideas but in this video i felt like the bonesaw got the special treatment with HUGS and some people might think that the bonesaw is the best of the best because of that ykyk? Either way very good solution :)

@@studdugie What an inspirational and helpful comment, I might print it out and sell it on a T-Shirt at a circus with how much of a joke your comment is. Either way my intention was not for Harpy to show all the weapons with only the best build(s) as that would indeed be boring and plain, I specifically typed "[...] could you also run [...]" merely suggesting Harpy to run a base line high damage build so viewers can gauge which weapons might be more worth it for their first apoc run.

That’s a totally fine thing to do, the point of my builds aren’t to be meta, or to squeeze out as much efficiency as possible. I make the builds in these vids with the goal of having fun and showing that every weapon is viable.
