I wanna give MASSIVE props to the devs for listening to the critiques of those that got early access to the game. One thing i noticed is that a few reviewers complained about how expensive it was to upgrade and try new weapons, via buying them from the weapons dealer. The guns were originally 2.5k scrap a piece, and now its only 1k per weapon. Incredible.

Feel like they should have went for the more "show don't tell" aspect of story telling, keep the narrative open and unsolved allowing the player to discover the world's story through minimal dialogue and environmental storytelling. Lay the groundwork for the overall theme and build up the bosses as being integral to the story. What we currently have is okay due to the great gameplay, but if they wana take the next big step and be a proper AAA game they'll have to get the story/lore to at least an interesting/intriguing level to motivate players and grab attention.

I've always thought of Remnant as 'arcade' souls, its not FromSoft hard and thanks to Adventure mode you can just pop in to a new version of a zone.

Start a new campaign on a new character on apocalypse in either the first or this one when you unlock it. Then say it isn't "fromsoft hard" when even a trash mob one shots you. At its base level it's not too difficult if you have good dodge timing, but it's not an easy game especially at higher difficulties.

It's weird how people think FromSoft games are the definition of hard lol. Elden Ring is the most easier 'souls' I played with Bloodborne. Dark Souls 2 and 3 was easy too. Only Demon's Souls was harder at that time. Especially when you need to run 10 minutes to retry a boss... Elden Ring got respawns EVERYWHERE. I mean... Yeah, their games are suppose to be hard. But I prefer some other games, but with mods to have some challenge. Some games with Ironmode/Hardcore. Or if I want some challenge, I play online games... I never really played a hard game in solo... AI is not smart enough for a Human

@@Bichote2382 But even that explanation makes no sense. There are $70 base games out there with a 10 hour campaign and no replayability. The base game at 50 with just the campaign is a good deal, maybe even a great deal. Add the rest and it's phenomenal. Elden Ring for all its content was a hell of a deal at 60, but I still only put 150 hours into that game. I will probably put double that into this one. It does depend on the player, but it's a good deal no matter what.

Production values. The reduced price point is because the game is also reduced production. Not to say a lot of effort has not been put into the game, but everything about it is average and not meant to impress greatly. So they get a good score for price point, not a great one

Not everything has to be a 10....Jesus christ a game can be an 8 its a great game....Its so cancer how many people have this mindset that everything needs to be a 9 or a 10 and, if it doesn't have that its garbage. There is no universe where even if it had a AAAA budget that it would be a 10....10 means perfect, there is no such thing as a perfect game. There are also performance issues that some will have that others wont that all comes down to how the game generates your levels. One person may get a perfectly functional world, someone else might get almost the same world but has differences that give it performance issues.

You forgot to mention that it has some pretty interesting puzzles. Usually 1 per world but they had me sitting there for a good 10 minutes figuring them out and it was a nice addition to brake up the combat lope.

This is a really good game! It’s a grind until level 10. After that it really is remarkable; the story is solid, there aren’t many cutscenes and both solo and co-op work well. This game can be punishing, but it’s fair. Usually I can beat near my level bosses after a few tries, or going back to upgrade my gear a little. Honestly one of the best games I’ve played in years. I’ve played a lot of games. Everyone says it’s Souls-like, but I’ve played Souls games and this is way more forgiving, on lower difficulty at least.

Hey guys, so I’m one of those players that like to research games a good bit before I buy them and I’m super on the fence on whether to get this game or not so any advice would help a ton! I’ve never played a souls like game before. I’m also the type of player that doesn’t always like to wait for all my friends to get online to grind the game so I was curious if this game would be possible to beat solo for a newbie or if I’ll have to wait till after I’ve gained loads of experience from gaming with my usual friend group. Lastly, if any of you think this game would be worth it, which version do you recommend between the standard, deluxe and ultimate? I don’t fully understand how much the armour that’s given helps and if it’s a better investment for the dlc since you get it free in the future with ultimate instead of buying them all separately when they come out. I loved teh first game, but it had issues that pretty much everyon saw and agreed that made it gor from a great game to a good game, like balacing, how useless a lot of stuff could be, how expensive was to upgrade stuff, etc that the Final Boss was almost impossible to do alone, and from what i have seen pretty much everythign was improved and adressed in the sequel, so i'm excited for this game.

You're supposed to put the majority of the story together yourself from npc dualogues and from what you find in the world. Don't be lazy. As for procedurally generated world and finding the gear you want is what Remnant is known for and why players love it. So throwing that out the window and just giving you all the loot in 1 or 2 playthroughs would destroy the core aspect of this game

Came down to production values. Besides the bang for your buck, which is good but not amazing since its all about rng looting. the game may not hold your attention because if doesn’t give different ways to interact with it beyond its core. Graphics, audio, story, etc also bring the experience down a bit as you don’t feel you’re playing a highly polished highly produced title. So, the price is good for what the game offers, but is not amazing. It’s simply properly prized at a baked in discount

The loss of tier set bonuses is kinda a deal breaker for me. Mix matching sets with certain guns was incredibly fun in Remnant 1 and though the dual classing may offer similar customization, I would have liked tiers and dual classing instead. Pass for now. Edit: Forgot to add if we see armors with single effects (I didnt see any when you hovered over items in character screen) id say losing sets for multi class perks is a perfectly fine tradeoff. And no im not referring to items with effects like rings.

The tier bonuses didn't disappear, there's no tradeoff. They've been moved off the armor to new weapon mutations, which are different from weapon mods that are still there. Now you can customize your armor instead of being locked into certain types because of bonuses. Armor is now just about weight, protection, and resistances. There's also less emphasis on bonuses giving you raw damage buffs, so it encourages you to be more creative.

Having played through the game in veteran so far, wanted to add a warning. Yes, they have improved on Rmnt 1 in some reagrds, notably less adds in bosses. However, they have also taken steps back. The sheer volume of enemies that spawn behind you is just silly. And dying from stuff that happens off-screen isn't difficult or fun, its just BS. There was less of that in the first game. And it happens constantly. Can get pretty annoying.

for the majority of players its not worth buying it on pc until a major performance patch comes out. The games optimization is based on upscaling and basicly makes the game 720p with choppy 50fps

I really need to just sit down and actually try to play a Darks souls type game. I’ve avoided them because I’ve always heard the difficulty is nuts. Need to get over that fear because I’m sure I’m missing out on something i might enjoy.

I’d say give it a shot! Pick the Dark Souls title or soulslike that most appeals to you and go for it. Either you’ll figure out these kinds of games are not for you, or you’ll unlock a whole new style of game to explore.

It is so weird that outlets which just two days ago hyped the game to no end suddenly start nitpicking and complain. Also it is weird to complain about restarting worlds to get bosses to unlock archetypes when the archetype you are showing in the video is a purchasable one. I guess you were referring to the non starter archetype but couldn't show video footage...

I just hope it's better than the first. That one got really repetitive and a bit boring half way through, much thanks to the map design and the environments.
