Hi! Is the radio/Wi-Fi signal easily jammed from outside? How to prevent it being jammed?

Hello, just subbed. The anti-theft component of this camera is really interesting. I despise batteries, especially ones that aren't rechargeable. Also why do all of these smart cameras not have the ability to throw video in hourly chunks onto a NAS or something instead of paying for cloud storage... I'd rather a powered hang from the top of the door frame that can log video to Blur Iris or something that aggregates video locally.

You bring up great points for sure. Overall, it’s a good camera with some good features, but it’s also missing a few of those smart home integration features too. Still, like I said, I’ve been impressed and I’ve had it over a month now.

Automate Your Life I just slapped my new Wyze outside. I guess if it gets nabbed I'll have learned my lesson, lost faith in my neighborhood, and evolve. Like your channel, was thinking about doing something like it myself, but I think I'll let you handle it. ;-)

I love my Wyze too, and with the price of them they could get stolen and I wouldn’t spend the evening crying.... As for starting something like this, hey, I always encourage people to try putting their spin on it and to just try it! Let me know if you try, but regardless, thanks for joining up!

These camera companies need to allow saving video to local NAS
@Oneness1005 жыл бұрын
The benefit of having the video stored in the cloud is for security. Let's say someone breaks into your home and steals your NAS or whatever you have it storing videos? If it's stored in the cloud, they can't steal that device, so it protects your videos from being stolen. Plus, it's just that these companies need to have some constant revenue stream. They are a business after all and there are benefits to the video being stored in the cloud and all of that costs them money.

Hi there, thanks for the video demonstration. I have a question though. Living in an apartment, would other people nearby be able to connect to my remo camera and infiltrate the data?
@AutomateYourLife4 жыл бұрын
In general, no. The answer is more complicated than that though and you need to follow the right practices with your own network. Follow us and we give these tips all the time!

Yes, they can steal one, they just have to break down the door or break into the house and then take it after the door/house is broken into. I doubt it's going to happen all that often, but it's not 100% safe from being stolen.

Sure, but at that point...do I care about the camera? :)

Well the product is similar to the Ring in price and funtions but what i don't like are the D batteries ( rather have 4 AA rechargable batteries ) I saw another review and the quality of the video was not good. Problems with the WiFi connectivety render images kind of blurry. If they change the batteries and solved the wifi receptivity problem i would considered buying these product.

Have not had any of those problems...still to this day. However I will say the large batteries are annoying to replace.

you talked about how important the "anti-theft" capability was, but you did not show how the unit was installed. I can only assume that it is anti-theft because you said so and you are sponsored by Remo+. Sooooo..... Also you stated that the battery went down "fast". Wow how fast is that?
@AutomateYourLife5 жыл бұрын
You know what assumptions make, right? When you say that someone's saying something because they were sponsored, you're attacking their integrity. You may want to consider that before you go typing that in on someone's channel. I only say what I mean on this channel. That's very important to me and to my fans. I may not always be right, but I'm always truthful. If I don't like something about a product, I say it or if I'm being asked not to by the vendor, I cancel the sponsorship and the device never makes it on the channel. Make sense? As for your questions...I suppose I'll still answer: The Remo literally sits on top of your door, like I pointed out in the video. You can put a tiny screw that they provide you into the top of your door, but I've never needed it. The Remo+ has never moved, and I open my front door multiple times a day. It's not an install process. It's "open door, put silver, thin part of Remo+ on top of door, close door, enjoy". The camera is really impossible to steal because half of the unit is on the inside of your home. Someone could try and break the thing...but that's about it. As for "fast", that's when you turn on the camera full time. I'd say it would last for about 2 weeks to a month if you turn the camera on full time. I've never left it on for more than a couple of days, so I can't tell you what fast exactly means. However, the batteries I installed originally in September 2018 were just replaced two weeks ago. So that's normal operating time. 6+ months.

Nice review but you said "actually" so many times it became a distraction.

Actually, how do you know that? But seriously, sorry about that. I hope it still helped.
