I just got my first S3 Pro and I most like it a lot. But I wish the zones worked like the NEST Cams (which I'm moving away from). I don't want the zones to stop something from being recorded. I ONLY want them to stop the alerts for that zone, but if there is motion I still want them to be recorded. For example I would like every car that comes in my driveway to be recorded but I don't need an alert every time they do. Am I missing something? Is there a way to do this on the EUFY.

TP-Link Deco mesh routers have a feature never seen on another manufacturer. Connection Preference. This allows you to assign a specific device to a closer node if you wish. Got a device that seems to fall offline to often? Maybe its signal is weak, and it doesn't see to connect to the physically closest node? Connection Preference allows you to assign to a node AND it stays connected to that node. Made a difference on my Wyze cams.

The rubber "gasket" is not just for thinner pipes. It should ALWAYS be used since steel and copper should not touch. They react and cause the copper pipes to corrode and possibly cause pinhole leaks.

What happens if your house loses power, the temp drops causing a pipe to burst and water contacts the sensor, will the sensor communicate with the main unit?

@AutomateYourLife2 күн бұрын
Hey Fionn, check at 1:19 for the dimensions of both with and without attachments. It's tough to say exactly where your top of pipe will sit as that will depend on piping and how you fit this on exactly. What you could do is take the diameter of your piping off the height with the attachments and that would get you really close. Maybe another 10-20 mm after that could be removed.

Hey Brian, Been a while! I have recently bought two Switchbot Meter Pro CO2 that I have placed in our movie room and bedroom. I found out that when I connected the CO2 meters to both Smartthings och Google Home the CO2 meters shows up twice, as to be expected. As per my finding this is what is happening. -If Switchbot is connected with Smartthings and Smartthings in turn is connected with Google Home = CO2 monitor is presented once with only temperature in Google Home. (In Smartthings, CO2 Monitor is presented with temperature and humidity) -If Switchbot is connected only with Google Home = CO2 monitor is presented with temperature, humidity and CO2 levels in Google Home. -If Switchbot is connected with both Smartthings and Google Home = CO2 monitor is presented twice, one with only temperature and one with temperature, humidity and CO2 levels in Google Home. I'm happy about the Switchbot meter being able to show whatever sensor you want. I've wanted that since I first got my outdoor meters. I also like the Third Reality soil sensor. I've found that there isn't much to choose from in that category, and the ones I bought last year aren't smart; they just connect to their own hub/app. I do worry about the zigbee signal being able to go as far as I'd need it to though. Finally, I wonder if the new Ring Doorbell is more reliable than the Pro 2 I have. Seems like that thing is always failing in some way, whether it be showing the camera on the Echo Shows when someone rings or starting routines. Mine has been awful for both of those things, but I haven't been able to determine if the problem is with Eero, Alexa, or Ring. Ugh.

I live in the Santa Cruz Mtns. Redwood forest, and my 81 yr old Mum lives five minutes away from my husband and I. We’ve just moved back into our house, which we’ve rebuilt after it burned in the 2020 lightening storm that was generated by wild fires. My Mum is also rebuilding their house, which also burned down. They never lived there, as they had moved into our town to be closer to us and to pay off their mortgage and get into a less costly home. They bought it and completely remodeled the whole home, three bathrooms, kitchen, flooring and all. It wasn’t a smart home in any way and it had some quirky design flaws, and two stories, which was difficult for my very ailing Dad. Then they moved all of their worldly possessions, photos, artwork and jewelry, out of storage containers and into the new home. Then, before they had time to unpack or make arrangements to move into it, it was burnt down. Cinders. But they decided to rebuild the home, unsure if they’d live in or sell it. Sadly, shortly after the rebuild got under way, my father passed away from an undetected cancer all through his body. He passed on March 19. So Mum is heartbroken and putting all her energy into rebuilding the home. She had made it a single story so it’s something she can easily manage as she ages if she decides to live there. She loves her independence and drives her mini or Dad’s Tacoma, up and down the windy mountain roads through all weather. I want to be able to keep an eye on her, with her acknowledgement of course, that triggers an alert to my phone if there is any fast or erratic movement or some kind of commotion inside the home. I’d also like to find a comfortable piece of jewelry that looks good too (she’s vain, as am I); something that alerts my phone if she has a dangerous pulse or heart rate, or if she falls, which has happened enough times for me to want to monitor it, as I will often be able to get to her quickly or can call someone who can. We live in a neighborly community where everyone is willing to look out for each other. But the problem is this: we have sooooo many unforeseen power outages in the winter (and a fair share in the summertime too), that we need back up power generators or batteries. As we are on a long wait list for batteries but eventually will both have the Tesla ones soon (ETA: March maybe, we’re not sure so this winter is a huge concern!) But looking to the future, what are my best possible and easy products to choose from?

I bought the valve hoping to connect to Hubitat but it isn’t supported yet. So I bought the M3 hub and I can’t get it to connect to that either. I see it trying to pair but I get a message, “you do not have permission to perform the operation (Network-755). Anyone familiar with this? I put in a ticket to Aqara via e-mail last night but no response as of yet. I tried installing and uninstalling the hub as well as resetting the valve multiple times with the same results every time.
@AutomateYourLife2 күн бұрын
Yeahhhh, you gotta wait for our reviews on stuff like this. Hubitat didn't let me connect it and I showed that. As for the M3, it sounds like maybe you're not on the owner account? Check in with Aqara like you have, but something's off about the app there. Can you get other things installed?
@EthanemanКүн бұрын
@ thanks so much for your reply. It’s frustrating that for more than a decade we had all these proprietary products and then the technology improved for integrations but we still have companies walking off their gardens. With my valve and the M3 hub it turns out the hub had yet another firmware that I had to install. Once I did this the valve was able to pair. Aqara has yet to answer my request. This valve is pretty powerful but I think their attachment clamps are not completely thought out. No matter how hard I torque down the bolts and hardware the unit moves some which makes for potential failure or incomplete valve closure opening. I’m going to leave it on but they need to improve the mechanism to attach the valve to the pipe. Thanks again!
