Jordan's comment of "It's just water." Brings to mind two quotes from my dad, the plumber. When ever we had a particularly dirty job to do dad would look at me and say, "Just stick your hand in there. It's not shit." Or he would say, "Just stick your hand in there. It's just shit." Over the years in my career those two sayings have gotten me through a lot of challenging situations. With Jordan's attitude he won't run up against any problems that he can't handle. These are things that a father teaches by example. Good job Stud Pack.

Well I have to say you all are top - notch, i have witness a contractor and he just overcharged us on remodeling a bathroom, his work lead to water damage, rotten wood, rusted bottom tub, i am so impressed with you all, at how you document your remodel on camera, for any future contractors who would have to come in after you all. The camera work is excellent! Great shots, great angles, never a dull moment of watching. Time-lapse done in the right way, just amazing work! I will seriously want to contact you all to possible re/re-do bathrooms -- of course several years down the road. Contractors really need to be watching you all to get their act together! Great work you all! Can't wait for more content! i am watching your series from the beginning...

Stud pack, i appreciate how you see something that is o.k. but you take your time to make it better.. example: cabinet crossbrace had one pocket screw and thats o.k. but you removed brace and glued it to make it even stronger and better.

Love the videos! Use a blue guard and green fine finish tip for your graco gun. Levels up the finish, less oversray, less mess, less material on the ground. I learned that a few years ago when refinishing cabinets. Keep up the great videos!

Looks great! My only complaint is cutting a big square around the plumbing. I hate to look inside a vanity and see the back cut like this. I always cut around the pipes. Water lines don't have to be perfect cause scutions hide the cut. Sewer lines as close as you can get. I usually mark the center of the wall and the center of the vanity to take my measurements from. Mark the height of the vanity on the wall. Might take an extra 20 minutes to mark/cut. Everything else looks great. 👍

It helps me feel more confident in knowing how things should be done 😊 You guys totally should have kept a longer clip of you mixing the water proofing, because that shit is so satisfying to watch! 😋 Love you guys!!

Instead of cement board and the liquid membrane have you ever tried foam core board like schluter Kerdi board ($$) or goboard ($) or wedi ($$$). Good stuff and easier to work with.

No. I've had a difficult time finding foam board here. Just now seeing it locally. I'd like to try it.

@@StudPack you’ll like it. Lighter, easier to cut, and no need to seal since it’s waterproof.

Sorry but Schluter product still will require repairs - like acne scars. Every penetration by screw plus proprietary washer to attach to wood framing will have to have Kerdi band Bandage glued on. Not one layer.

When your spraying the cabinet in place, is it a given that the walls get painted second due to overspray?

Jordan and Mr Studpack, Do y'all have full confidence in the paint on waterproofing membrane? I've heard mixed opinions and have decided to due to Schluter Kerdi membrane in my shower, but the paint on seems WAY easier and fool-proof. Would love to hear your thoughts.
@StudPack
@StudPack 4 жыл бұрын
Liquid applied waterproofing membrane over cement backer board checks a lot of boxes for us. It's readily available, affordable, no special tools/techniques are needed, clients love it, and the end result is pretty great. Water will have a very difficult time finding a way to the structure once the tiling is complete when done this way. First line of defense is the tile/grout/caulk, second line of defense is the waterproofing membrane, and the third line of defense is properly installed backer board. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment!

Covid masks are not used to block VOC. Wasted effort. Need to be N95 + charcoal masks. Charcoal grey colour with two straps or greater. Might as well put a bandana over your face. That is the effectiveness.

I had a channel where I was my husband's "personal paparazzi" that I ended up taking down due to other topics I got involved with. Nothing that *should've* bern controversial with cancel culture or involving the MSM, but just in case, I shut it down. It was just videos of our daily life and how we fixed things ourselves, not neccesarily "how to" videos by any means. I miss the filming, video processing, posting, and looking forward to the contact with other people as a result.
