A good application would be to disguise this, and then control it from a distance. Enemies might rule it out as a sniper because of the limited space.

+Antonius Kazakov (Toni) It would make a great decoy too, enemy empties a hail of gunfire into what they think is a sniper, nobody there. Lower profile means fewer bullets do any damage, reinforced steel means it can take hits and still fire back, all the while your infantry circles around and catches the enemy completely by surprise.

Maybe you could use this with a target-memory system. You know, shoot area one, then area two, then area three, and it could do it in extremely rapid succession, faster than most humans could. It could also be used as a diversion, assuming you don't have to be right next to it to use it you could use it to distract hostiles while you launch the real attack from a different side, while their pants are down.

This I think is great! Snipers are so important for reconnaissance, hitting high priority targets and taking the enemy by surprise on the battlefield while being at a safe distance from most gun fire. You mount this on a small remote control vehicle with a laser target designator (for calling in air and ground support) and it can do pretty much anything a human sniper can do but with a lower profile, minimal heat signature, and no loss of life if things get hairy. Sure it'll be $$$ down the drain if taken down but better than the time and money loss from training and feeding a new human sniper.
@Q8Police7779 жыл бұрын
You should play around with that scope that automatically calculates distance bullet drop and wind so all you have to do is point and it will even shoot once its on target
@HellsRaven44449 жыл бұрын
I saw a video on a japanese website once. The guy in it used an airsoft assault rifle, put it on a gyro-stabiliser like the one in this vid only smaller, then attached a webcam as the targeting sensor. He then added a program that automated the entire thing to target anything with the colour blue. It tracks really fast and accurate and shoots once it has its target.

+ArtisanTony Good observation. For this video, we used a nemo 300 WM instead of our normal .308 rifles. This version of the Talon was our prototype. Due to the shooting (pun intended) schedule, we did not have the time to perfectly tune it. Our production version has the ability to tune the system to the weapon very quickly and the recoil is a non issue. We can even put a belt fed weapon on it and handle the needed corrections to prevent the rounds from rising.

I've always imagined a dual setup (for double shots) or ring setup with each platform an actual sniper and turret tracks the sniper IR and executes the shot. Lastly, they need to fix the rightward drift issue and possibly implement a hydraulic based slide track to manage recoil with the gun sitting on a level bore axis (or negative even) to reduce upward muzzle rise. Also, no IR target tracking? Paint a target once, turret focuses onto object and locks itself no matter what movement is introduced. Stage 2 would be you paint it once and platform locks on without IR laser present.
