I don't think a Chinese man can travel alone to India so easily, freely, safe, convenience and feel so welcome by the Indians like Indian travelling in China. My big takeaway from your videos is you are free to travel to these places in the first place. And that these areas are one of the most remote and least developed in China. but you can see the development and how quickly the place is improving for the ordinary people (mostly Uyghurs) who are well clothed and have their own businesses catering to their own people. Why Police doing this with Tourists in Xinjiang? Because - 1) There's is a tendency of radicalism and terrorism in that region coming from neighboring countries. From 1990 to the end of 2016, terrorists and religious extremists carried out several terrorist attacks in Xinjiang. 2) If America could create and sponsored Taliban to fight against Russia during the Cold War, there's nothing stopping America from doing the same with Uyghur separatist to create problem for China. In fact, US could be looking for an opportunity to do exactly that, as they are in cold war with China right now (maybe). 3) Western media like CNN, FOX, BBC, Sky News, Reuters etc. have used Xinjiang issue to demonized China before and had even raised the issue in international platform like UN so as to isolate China. So far their attempts have been failing miserably due of lack of concrete evidence. So, there you have it. Xinjiang is a border province with sensitive issue. Government will do what they had to do - i.e. 'tight security'. It's similar to India like in J&K and NorthEast region, where draconian law like AFSPA still exist even today and state forces are station everywhere.
