I don't know why, but I laughed so hard when you grabbed the staple gun and the dog was laying on the cord. He was so comfy before that 😂. Poor baby had his peace disturbed.

This is called an Elkhorn which has the skinny fronds and the Staghorn has the broad founds which you can see mounted above the fence in the left background later in the video.

Hi, I just had a quick question. I have a staghorn fern which has a frond that is turning yellow, and it recently lost a frond a few weeks ago that had also turned yellow. I have it on an east facing window where it gets bright light, and I thought it was enjoying this location, because as soon as I moved it here it put out a new fertile frond, and within the past two weeks I noticed it putting out a new shield frond. These yellowing of fronds throws me off though; I'm a little confused. Any input would be greatly appreciated. The location I had it hung before was a good 8 ft. From a north east facing window which isn't all that bright. Thinking of trying it out in the bathroom which has a north eastish facing window. Thanks!

It grows from the centre (the flat green bit). It will in time cover the wire.

An elkhorn has narrow fronds which sprout for the centre of the plant. A staghorn has a large main cuplike centre from which the narrower leaves grow. The staghorn central "cup" wraps around the tree it is attached to. They look very different, thus are named differently. An elkhorn will not grow into a staghorn and vice versa.
