Perfect timing. I've been trying to get my zwave Aeotec WallMote Quad to work for the past week. The problem was the documentation and videos don't look like anything HA today. I was able to follow what you were doing and get my WallMote working perfectly. Better still, you explained why you were doing what you were doing and diagnosed a problem along the way. Thanks! Well done!

I randomly came across a remote that looks and functions exactly like this a few months back. It is branded as Minoston 800 Series MR40Z and does not have a rechargeable battery . I have found the battery life seems good as the device still reports a full battery after a couple of months of use. I really like the functionality of this. I created a single automation that uses Trigger IDs based off of button pushes.

Cool video today Chris, thanks for sharing. Roughly 24 functions in a small package, that would push my memory limitations for sure!

Hey Chris, crazy coincidence. I was looking for some info and came across your channel. It’s been 27 years since we teamed un in Houston for that Nokia job. In any case, nice to see you are doing well.

be nice if you could have a way to put labels on the different buttons.

Hi, what card are you using?

The reason it's showing the button press as 22 seconds ago is that the device is caught in a temporal loop. This is handy when you go to bed and forget to turn off the lights. You can push the button and it will turn the lights off before you get into bed. I think that's how it works. 🤔

I better buy this together with a spot robot, to charge that battery for me.
