Watching trying to understand what is easier for me if taking the transmission first like this then the engine out or just taking both at once as my engine as you know is in a hydro locked state, seems to me taking the whole engine and transmission at once may be the way to go? like I mentioned before I have only about a foot of space on the driver side of the car because garage space and only 24-30 inches of floor to bottom of van clearance to work underneath, no idea if this would be a problem until I am actually doing it.

If it’s hydro locked you’re going to need to take them out together. If you cant spin the motor there’s no way to take the torque converter bolts out. So you will have to leave the torque converter connected to the flywheel and pull the transmission off like that. There is not enough room in the car to be able to get it out. Hope that helps and makes sense.

I am having to do this in mine and was wondering is there are normal speed I can watch for the last part when you manipulate the transmission to finally come out? I don’t have a lift unfortunately

I had the worst time getting carrier bearing mount off. Ended up using 3/8 drive extensions linked with 3/8-1/2 adapter for the only 5/8 wobble socket I had
