Thanks. I wish I could put this in my Kia Forte 2018 sedan. It has a regular 2.0L I'm sure this will go right in just need the computer that comes with the engine. After that I dont know what else would be needed to complete the process. Your video show me what it might look like behind my engine.

I wish my engine was sitting on a stand in a shop to do this. I ordered a turbo and didn't realize it was coming with the regulator, waste gate, and minifolds. It was aggrivating, but I did get it all out. However, it will not go back in as a whole unit. Another issue I had was my driveshaft was too low to get my oil tube off of the bottom. The nut barely came off and there was not enough clearance to get the flange on the tube over the mounting bolts. I guess I will cut the studs down and disassemble my turbo.

Sometimes you have to loosen the engine and or transmission mounts and lift engine to gain more access.

Make sure you buy a new turbo, don't buy a remanufactured because you going to regret it, and you don't need to disconnect from the exhaust pipe, take the 6 bolts that are connected to the turbo coming from the pipe, because if you don't do that, you'll have a lot problems taking the turbo out, also you have to lose the motor mount on the passager side so you can push the engine forward so aloud you to have more space.

I have a 09 tucson 4x2, to install a turbo, will I need to replace the entire manifold that has access to put a turbo or can I take the default manifold there ?

I don’t know what you mean? To replace the turbo you have to remove the manifold with turbo attached.

Yes, but not only that, the vehicles computer and wiring is different as well. Not easy to do.

It’s just easier to take it out as a complete set up then remove the turbo cartridge if that’s what you’re talking about. I don’t have a video on this engine but have it on a BMW that I removed just the turbo cartridge and replaced it with a new one. Basically there all pretty similar.

Why would I have engine oil everywhere in the engine bay, all underneath the under carriage, in the driver side wheel well, and inside the turbo charger, the intercooler, you name it there's oil on or in it, including one spark plug???? And is that a catastrophic or expensive problem? And if so how do you correct it? This is all post engine replacement and turbo system just weeks before the engine (approx 1yr ago)

Forgot to mention, all of this in addition to misfiring engine, once she warms up she will start losing power and acceleration and throw huge plums of sometimes black smoke, other times white greyish smoke. And depressing the accelerator only makes it worse and lose momentum quicker

Idk, sounds like you have a many problems. That much oil means new engine wasn't rebuilt right or has a hole somewhere for that much oil to leak. You can try cleaning that engine very good, let it dry then start it and see where it starts leaking from again. These engine are on a recall replacement list for a free one. I have a video on that you may want to check out as well as why they fail. good luck

That would be the best way. I support the engine and remove at least 3 mounts and swing the engine forward.

I noticed oil leaking out from the top of the return line, slow leak but noticeable, other than the leak no other Problem symptoms. Do you think is only the turbo to return line gasket leak or something inside the turbo itself? Thanks

Try cleaning that area then let it dry and see where it’s coming from after cleaning. Very well could just be that return gasket.

@@Motorcarnut thanks for your prompt reply. I did what you recommended, it's hard to tell whether is the gasket (turbo outlet to return line pipe) or higher up the turbo body itself. I'll do it again, once cleaned, I will observe while engine is running. I hope is just the return line gasket, not ready to spend hundreds for a new turbo component and labor expenses.

@conklinstreet2151 try to clean it really good and let dry then get an inspection mirror to see better. I know some are very hard to spot.

Well, I did clean all around the turbo area, ran for about 10 minutes while keeping an eye on the return line, I did see oil starting to come out right there at the gasket area, it was more where the round pipe joins the flat area where the screws go into. While running the engine I removed the engine oil filling Cap and noticed excess pressure coming from there, does this indicate anything? Thanks

I don't think so. I never looked into doing something like that. And it's not just adding a turbo, you have modern day computers to worry about and also compression ratios to worry about.

Not an engine lift but a floor just will help lfting the engine a little to give better access to the turbo.

That is correct. Good tip would be to remove nut on passenger side motor mount and raise that side up a bit will help a lot.

The exhaust manifold doesn’t require engine removal. It’s a little time consuming but not hard to do.

Just take over the lower engine mount and tilt the engine up a bit , that’s what everyone on the forums say to do , and I’ll figure that out in a bit too , getting my turbo stuffed soon

Cheating? This is not a game. The purpose of the video is to show where the bolt locations are and what to look for when removing the exhaust manifold being it's hard to see in the car. People can get an idea of where everything is and what's needed to remove it. My videos I don't play music or show turning bolts with a ratchet for a half hour. I get to the point.
