i used a strap wrench and twisted them out. Cool idea you came up with.

this is the first time ive seen anyone get this done. good job. But I want to add something not to be a know it all. after seeing you do this it dawned on me to just remove the muffler and use a pipe to hit it out from behind. It was real easy, one or two lite taps and out it came. Getting the muffler off? not so easy but I got it done without a slide hammer.

sorry for the delay..just seeing these: 1. where did I get the hook - it was part of a slide hammer kit that I got from HarborFrieght. You can get that tool kit from any hardware store. not sure if you can get the hook alone. buy the kit...use only the hook and you can return it after done ;) 2. Fiberglass - i removed it totally and low end sucked big time. Put everything back together but the sound was too mellow for me. I cut the fiberglass packing into half : (i) first I packed it at the lower end of the baffle - closer to the head pipe and took it for a ride...it wok but not to my satisfaction. (ii) then packed it towards the farther end of the baffle - closer to the exhaust...VIOLA!! achvied the deep throaty rumble I wanted and dint have any issues with low end lag hope this helps!! good luck

Hi thanks for the video? Do you have a link for the slide hammer? I’m not able to find a longer one like in your video. Thanks for your help.

When doing (ii) did you leave the packing in the front or you removed that and just put it in the back near the exhaust side?
@davemagee4 жыл бұрын
So easy without the baffles being covered with sound proofing wrap did mine yesterday I nearly gave Up they packed them so well. Mine were on a 2015 road glide Not New pipes 🙂 All the best anyway from NZ

How does it sound without the packing? Is the sound just as deep but louder or the sound changed completely?

I have the same muffler and would like to hear it. I'm going for the deeper throatier tone. Can u post a video of what ur bike sounds like?

@@jithendraanjuri4934 - Thanks. I checked Harbor Freight and didn't see the hook in their slide hammer but I did find it at Home Depot. Will give this a try later this week. Thanks for the video and response.

Seriously Albert? Much, much more work removing the slip on to remove the baffle than this technique.
