Apple IIgs has the same kind of battery. On my ROM01 machine, I just got a 3xAA battery holder and soldered that in, then stuffed the holder with Eneloops. Same nominal voltage as the shipped battery, and it's not going to be flat for awhile. ROM03, same deal except I had to take the battery holder on the mainboard out.

Yep, Apple used to have these ones (or removable ones, as the one I’d shown on the SE30) on many models, for quite a long time. You can find similar ones all the way through to the iMac and Powermac era. I think they switched to using button cells on Mac Pros (at least the ones that I own have button cells).

Also, double A’s work well, since the computer doesn’t actually send a recharge signal. So you can pretty much use whatever, as long as it’s the same voltage and you don’t mess up the polarity

Lol, read "butterflies" instead of batteries and still thought it was kinda logical, but weird.

The funny thing is, on many occasions I’ve found many critters and bugs (perhaps even butterflies, who knows) inside old computers lol

Старые мат. платы вроде заряжают старые батареи. А для щелочных это опасно ( могут так же взорваться). Вроде как надо выпаивать диод для зарядки на самой плате.

@@ro1934 Хотя есть такие случаи, на данной мат. плате зарядка не идет. Поэтому заменять их любой другой батареей безопасно и желательно.

@@ro1934 Хорватский) Он помогает, конечно, однако местами и мешает. Легко перепутать падежи и прочие окончания) Может как-нибудь осмелюсь сделать ролик с русской озвучкой 😁 Хотя почему-то, когда говорю на тему компьютеров и технологии, проще всего об этом рассказывать именно на английском.

@@letsg4353 Lol I guess. I mean, with these old computers, it’s not like you’r going to use them everyday, so it’s not a big deal to go and enter the bios setting every time you boot it up. I’d rather not have it on there than have to worry about at which point it’s going to blow. Just clip it out 🤟
