I just ordered a used 3d Printer... whoever had it last should have watched your video, they clearly tried to use something metal and scratched up the LCD screen, then gave up and sold the printer. I removed the remainder of the resin fallowing your method, but now I'm trying to figure out if I can remove these scratches somehow or if I will need to buy another LCD screen. Gonna try Mr.Cleans magic eraser, I hear that's a decent way to remove scratches.

This morning I went to my printer to remove a sculpture and the whole back part didn't print so I drained the vat pulled it out and hole was in it and cured and cured resin was everywhere. I cleaned it up as best I could checked the registration square and it was perfect as it's new I just changed it last week. I had just seen your video yesterday and took some alcohol and the yellow plastic scraper all the dried resin came right up I took my time to let it soak and it came right up. My uv screens are really expensive I have a peopoly phenom resin printer. Usually when a spill is that bad I would have to throw the screen away you saved me $140.00 . Quite helpful, found I have a small smear of resen on my lcd screen and a small build up from a leak I didn't see, as I've been printing nonstop for the last week to make Xmas gifts. Only to find a 3mm lump of resen had leaked out and punctured the fep. Now that I know I can use a credit card to scrape it off imma do that, was using plastic scraper that came w my printer, but found it to be chewed up something bad.

I'll be using a spare fep sheet as a screen protector. One product, multiple uses. One week into resin printing, and already dealing with this headache. Amazon plastic razors damaged my polarizing film. Make sure to buy some quality ones. Amazon ones became jagged after a few back and forth a, causing a small tear in the polarizing film What I did installing my new fep, is pull a tooth pick through the holes before putting in a bolt. Found the screws didn't want to start threading untill I premade the hole.

A shame I didn't saw this video earlier. I've got resin on my lcd! My thought was "if I cure it I can scrape it off easily". I cured it with an uv torch, and with a shaving razor I tried to peel it off from beneath! Long story short, I peeled off the resin... And the lcd film... Now I have to replace the lcd!!!

I've anycubic mono x6k and while cleaning resin from my screen I cut a little hole in there, I don't know it's like a film in there but could not find a solution.. I don't think that replace the screen??

Takes time sometimes ...put some ipa on tissue or paper towell let it soak..

I had that happen to me. Just gotta try to untighten it and tighten it and repeat it a few times. I had to use a pair of pliers for more leverage but eventually it came off

What is the tape called that holds the screen on? Someone recommended Kapton tape but I found that the color bleeds everywhere if you ever get resin on the tape.

First vid that popped up when i searched for resin printer lcd screen spill! Awesome instructional video. I have a side question, do you not if you do a screen exposure test, have an abnormal colored section on your lcd / screen protector now? And is that something that i should be worried about as i do have a differently colored section, even after getting the hardend resin off, and having it soaked in iso 99%!

Sometimes it is inevitable to get some clouding on your screen I have a little bit on mine but I don't really have enough to cause any change to my prints, it's printing really well. I guess it's a lesson for both of us to get a screensaver lol

I've never had any issue just changing the fep without doing anything special and it's always, always worked there's a number of videos on KZbin which discussed the correct tension in a fep but I honestly feel that too much emphasis is placed on perfection. I've heard people using bottle tops and rolled tissues to get the right tension but I think it's a preference I'd have a look at the internet and see what others recommend on specific videos but just try changing your fab printing I'm sure it will be fine

**Update: My actual screen wasn't damaged, it just looked as though it was by the way the resin had cured (looked like cracked glass all in one corner). I managed to gently lift some (water washable) resin by laying a paper towel dampened in hot tap water over the main edges of cured resin and then used a plastic scraper/razor to gently slide across my screen until I felt a bite... Once I'd found that, the rest kind of just lifted off with a lil added elbow grease here and there... Was actually quite satisfying tbh. So the only thing I need to actually replace (thank Odin) is my FEP sheet - I think I just went into newbie panic mode when I saw what looked like webbed glass in my screens corner... I feel like I've achieved a milestone in the 3D printing adventure 😅** - Not only do I have a puncture my FEP, but whatever did it (still unknown) also damaged my screen 😢

@greedy3d480 yeah, turns out they had a scratch resistant film on the screen. Not an actual screen protector but still. Thing fit so well i had to double check when the manufacturer stated that.

What printer is it as a Mars 2 pro does have a factory fitted screen protector according to Elegoo. The Saturn 2 also as a tempered glass plate protector over the screen. Failing that a cae windscreen scraper should work to get resin from the screen ;-)

Better than chipping at the resin: Stick some duct tape to it and pull. I had to pull 4 or 5 times but I got all the resin off of my screen in under a minute.

There is a much easier and less risky method to use. Try using a piece of masking tape to peel the resin off the screen.
