Dynabolts may not be electrical! However this is defiantly a skill that every tradie should know as you never know when you will need it!

This is so much better because grinding them off seems lazy and most people do that instead of properly removing them!

You my friend are amazing. I love your selfless attitude to share knowledge, thank you for sharing. If a dynabolt doesn't tighten, does that mean the hole is too big as in long ways and consequently I'll need the same diameter dynabolt but longer?

If you push the dynabolt in, and if the centre bolt does not come out then you should be able to tighten it. If you still cannot get it tight then yes the whole is too big.

Great tip but thats NOT a Dynabolt. A Ramset Dynabolt has a sleeve with an internal bolt having a wedge shaped internal head that relies on an external nut to be torqued which pulls and spreads the sleeve creating the jamming effect that see's the fixture tight in the hole. What you have there is a 'Loxon' style anchor plug, where there is no bolt left protruding from the wall (such as with a Dynabolt) when you undo things. Yes maybe its a small point but they are two completely different fixtures and warrant being identified correctly. After all, who wants to see a video with the caption 'How to change a car tyre' and then a bloke taking the wheel of his bike. Now do a video of removing a Loxon fixture where the sleeve is flush with the wall. 😎

Thanks mate!! They are known as Ramset Dynabolts where we are from :)

A company called ramset has trademarked the name dynabolt here, so I'm pretty sure that's the correct name
