Had a baggage door slam lock cylinder come out when trying to find the right key to fit. Tried everything suggested by everyone and nothing worked to get the sucker back in. Then I found your video. Thanks man!! it worked like a charm and the cylinder was back in the lock in a nano second. Muchas gracias

WHen you used your Covert Companion, that was so easy. Is it possible to remove the barell like this when the door is locked? Im looking to buy locks for a camper Im building, but that look doesnt look even slightly secure.

No, the lock has to be unlocked for it to be removed like this. You're essentially pulling a wafer I'm the far back that's the only thing holding it in. When the lock is locked, every wafer is preventing the cylinder from coming out. I'm sure the locks are not the most secure but they only come out like this if they're open.

We just had our whole entry door lock completely replaced. Someone had stuck somethin in one of our locks preventing us getting our key in the slot. It was 9:30 PM in a Banff Canada RV park. I tried to break the lock to get in. Neighbors heard the commotion and thought we were breaking in the motorhome. We were never able to get through the locked door. We had to remove a window to get in. So yes they are secure. No one is breaking in via the door. They will need to break a window.

The hook I used is from the Covert Companion over at covertinstruments.com but you can find cheaper lockpick sets online and they all will have some hook that will work, or you could use a paper clip like I did in the video even if it is a little trickier.
