It works it’s just the water is too hot and it will damage the hair. You don’t have to boil the water just use the hot water out the sink it gets the job done without the damage

FYI loves! If you use this method and there's still just a tiny bit of color left use the color wheel to find how to tone it. Whatever color you have, find the color opposite it on the color wheel to tone the hair to a neutral. So if you have a tiny bit of green tint you'll take red or a pure red based pink semi permenant dye and mix a drop with the conditioner you use to make the hair soft again. I've been doing hair for over a decade and this always works for me. It's the same idea as using purple shampoo to tone a yellow wig white or a blue toner to turn brassy orange hair to a neutral blonde. I hope this helps!

Hi I have a question.. if I have a blonde wig with pink tips what would be the opposite color to tone it ?
@dahliacheung60203 жыл бұрын
@@brattoncarli4222 the opposite color to use for pink is green! Remember though, you want the color you're toning away to be really faded out before using the toning shade or else the neutral you'll end up with is brown!

Ah-freakin'-mazing. You just cured my panic attack...I turned a brand new blonde wig green when I wanted to root it in brown. Gawd...I used an alchohol-based brown marker on it (like every wig "expert" said) and, damn, it turned green. So baking soda miracle it is! 1000 thank yous! XXOO

Hey girl how long did you let it sit each time ?
@KeepinUpWNish4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Honestly, at minimum 20 minutes, but you should do it at your discretion. Meaning after 20 mins, if the water is murky from the color, you should dump it, rinse, and prepare another bath. You can leave it for an hour, or however long. The tip is to really go easy on the baking soda bc it dries out the cuticles on the hair. Repeat this process until the color you want develops. After the video ended, I did a third bath the next day, because when the sun hit the wig, it still had a tinge of green that I did not appreciate. :)
