The option of installing lithium batteries in any position may come in handy. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Hey there, Jersey Jim! I don't like the upfront cost of lithium batteries, but they seem to justify the cost when considering their many benefits. I may abandon the idea of placing them directly on the floor, but I am prioritizing weight distribution and center of gravity. Thanks for commenting and I will definitely keep everyone posted!

Hey there, J Hen! It was 80 and a little humid. In a couple of nights, it is supposed to dip down to 30. I am curious what the weather will be like on the gulf. I will be sure to let everyone know. Take care.

Thanks Mario, great video. Would it be possible to install 1 or 2 lithium batteries on the front tounge and use the existing wiring (not that familiar with the GeoPro)? Do you need to change the charge controller for lithium or can you use the existing controller? What model GeoPro do you have? Thanks, John
@MarioWorkedOnIt2 жыл бұрын
Hi, John. I will answer from memory and then conclude with some precautions. The Go Power solar charge controller I have will charge different types of batteries. It collects energy from the solar panels and charges the batteries. However, the WFCO brand ac converter is not (as I remember) suitable for lithium batteries. My model Geo Pro is a 2020 19TH. You can collect model numbers from your solar charge controller and power converter and download their manuals to determine their specifications and capabilities. If you use existing wiring, you want to be sure and determine the wire's capability by measuring its gauge and length. You can reference charts that will illustrate its capabilities based on voltage level and type. My solar charge controller is capable of charging two battery banks. It is possible for me to have my solar panel charge the original house battery and a separate lithium battery. However, this is not efficient, and I will likely replace the existing ac converter and some of the wiring.

That wiring you showed looks like a rats nest. If you know where the existing battery connections pass through the bulkhead, you could pull new lines from the truck connection to your lithium batteries, and then tie those back to your existing invertor. You might even be able to charge the batteries in your truck with a solar panel through the invertor. Now what do you do if you want to reheat the leftovers from the mexican restuarant?
@MarioWorkedOnIt2 жыл бұрын
Hey, Kevin! How goes it? Indeed, the true question is "How do I reheat leftovers from the Mexican restaurant?" Using a saucepan and a little bit of milk, I was able to reheat some Olive Garden pasta stuff. I suspect I can do something similar using water. We will have to see. As you already stated, bypassing the existing rat's nest opens up all sorts of opportunities for efficient storing and using electricity. So I am willing to roll the dice on Mexican food leftovers, I think.

@@MarioWorkedOnIt Who am I kidding, there isn't a chance I'd ever leave a Mexican restuarant with leftovers. LOL, my plates look like I washed them with the exception of the peas they put in the rice.

Happy new year, Mario! Did you not use the microwave much? It is in a fairly awkward position.
@MarioWorkedOnIt2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, Jacob. Happy New Year! The convection/microwave oven was very functional. I only used it a handful of times in the past year. That and the fact the microwave occupies prime real estate near the electrical systems are my reasons for removing it.

Did you install the batteries yet? I’m about to and wanted to see what you encountered.

Hey there, On Mission. I have some of the parts listed out but had to put things on hold due to health issues. Also why I have not been posting videos lately.
