Remove plastic from a refrigerator shelf

Thank you so much for making this!!!!! I just moved into a new home, and the previous residents were not super tidy. My fridge shelves have plastic edges like these, with a lot of dirt trapped underneath that's causing a bad smell. But I couldn't take off the edges and it was so frustrating. Now my shelves will be clean! You are my hero today!

Thanks! mine is a Wirlpool WRX988SIBM , and shelves look more modern, but this atleast gave me more hope. Its good to remember 2 things: Use thin displacement, credit card or knife. to separate , and then deal with those Tabs.

How could i remove the plastic around the glass if it is all around and do not need the plastic anymore? refrigerator not working but could use the plastic.
