Yep. I know this comment is old, but I just wanted to say that I have just done that with this exact all in one. I added a 1070 ti to mine via the ae key m.2 port with an ae to nvme adapter, which went to a m.2 egpu dock. I really thought that it wouldn't work, but im so glad it was recognized. I do know that the gpu won't be fully utilized, but I don't mind; it can run games I want to play and fits in my current budget. Also I still love the design of the computer and the touch screen.

You are correct. These all-in-one desktop computers are basically laptop hardware configurations inside of a large screen with a stand. Just another way of marketing and making money off of similar hardware.
