If the pins look the same, there is a high chance that it will work. But some cards need special functions of the Intel processor available only from 8th generation of processors. Also check if your hardware manufacturer doesn't whitest allowed hardware (if he does, you need modded bios).

Now my wifi works, but I cant turn on bluetooth. I checked I put in the exact same model as it was before. Not all laptops have 2 wires , depends on the make and model . It will affect the wifi signal and speed that you get just having 1 . You can add another wire but its tricky if you want it in the best place for reception, it needs to go to the top of the screen . That means you need to remove the screen , bezel and a whole lot of other things . If you feel confident about doing it try a computer repair shop for a second hand wire , the connector is the same for all

Each model laptop must be tested to comply with various regulations governing radio communication and rf interference. In the USA it is the FCC that regulates this. If a laptop is certified, it is certified using a certain wifi card(s). So, per FCC rules, the laptop must be made so it won't operate with other wifi cards, cards which might cause the laptop to be in violation of radio-communication laws. There is a memory chip called the BIOS, inside the laptop, in which there is a an actual list of which wifi adapters are allowed. If any other adapter is installed, the laptop won't boot. There are people online who can give you programs to fix the problem.

Only way to test is to insert into another laptop or in another PCI slot in a different computer, then you will need to make sure the drivers are the correct one, as far as I know.

HealMyTech Yes exactly! Conscious of time spent so minimise diagnosing to occasional sessions. Got right down to the board and found card on other side. Too intricate to get without proper skill. Really frustrating as learned a bit and found HDD, memory easy to access & upgrade. Dumb design making some parts easy others hard to reach. Already order WiFi USB. Just need a keyboard ribbon clip now as mine so old it broke.

The older laptops were terribly designed, especially the low end ones. More recent laptops have a more simpler design, one main back cover to open with standard screws and everything is displayed and easily accessible. Still not a big fan of laptops, but credit where its due.
