My #stihl FS200 kept shutting down and giving other problems even after adjusting the #carburetor. This was a sign that it probably just needed cleaning or replacing. I decided to take down the carburetor and inspect it. I cleaned it up with some carb cleaner and she started right up after the first pull. I might make a video later on about my cleaning process. You do not need to remove the top cylinder cover to replace the carburetor.

I've had my FS120 for 18 years... apart from someone else borrowing it for a couple of hours back in 2012 and ran some bad fuel through it..which didn't take long to flush out afterwards...my FS120 has been very good....it's done a lot of work year in year out... it's never been for a service and only started faltering last year....took the spark plug out today for the very first time since it came out of the factory...gave it a quick clean and reinserted... started fine...idled well...gave it a few minutes before throttling gradually...ok low revs but then stumbled at half Rev then quit when higher...guessing after watching a few stihl carb vids...I guess I have to clean a certain screen.... thankyou for your take apart tutorial vid!

The FS120, 200, and 250 are all very solid trimmers. I believe they are pretty much the same besides the cylinder size. I’ve had mine for a while now and it’s been pretty reliable. I’ve replaced the carburetor a few times since the aftermarket maintenance kits are a lot cheaper compared to OEM. Besides that, the only major repair I’ve had to do was swap out the cylinder head because of a scored piston. Both issues were the result of me abusing the machine because I knew I could fix it if it broke down. I recently thought about upgrading to the FS240, however I can't justify it. These machines are still powerful even by today's standards. Thanks for sharing!

it would be nice if you show how to replace the clutch on the FS 120. Love my 120 but the clutch is worn out over the years.

I would need more details. The filter is connected to the carburetor via the fuel line. If it becomes separated, you will need to reconnect the fuel line.
