It's pretty simple: Men with recessed and narrow jaw + receding chin should absolutely rock a beard because the facial hair is going to give volume to your jaw and chin which will improve the way your face looks by a lot. Men with good forward growth of their jaws and good jawlines overall look way better without facial hair because you're then able to see the angularity of the jawline whereas a beard will hide that.

I grew up in a world where clean shaven face was almost the only option. All Women preferred clean shaven guys. This continued till around 2016/2017. Then, for some odd reason, media and top actors defining fashion decided to change the default look of men as - bearded men. All of a sudden, surveys started showing that women prefer bearded men and men also prefer having beards. Everyone started shifting to the beards. Now, what changed in just a few years? I used to shave, and get different reactions. Same thing when I grow a beard. Some people like it, some don't. However, the ones most close to me always said I should keep my beard growing, since it made me look more mature. I'm talking about a clean short beard, or even stubble. On top of that, Iately I started thinking what the purpose is of a beard. Men grow beards, whether it's just a few hairs or a thick, full beard. It's nature, and I think it's to immediately differentiate men and women, on the first glance. Women mostly don't have visible facial hairs (of course there are the ones with a slight moustache or very old ladies who have some hairs). Since I realized that there might be a puspose of a beard, I keep it. Once every few weeks I feel the disire to trim it, and sometimes I want to let it grow. I had a beard that I never trimmed/shaved since COVID and was completely into the - 'beard is manlier, shaven face is for kids and feminine men' mindset. Shaved it off a month ago due to an upcoming family gathering - my grandpa was adamant that I shave my beard for the family group photo (thanks, grandpa!). The guys hated me for it and made fun of me (as expected) but the girls in my office told me looked better and I got more attention from them which was never the case before. I think this is a bit ridiculous. Genuinely I think you should do whatever makes you feel comfortable. And i feel like it’s a more style thing based on the history of guys clean shaving or just having a mustache. I personally have a beard that I take care of and is a big part of what makes me handsome. I say just do what you want and what makes you comfortable. Not what someone else tells you to do. In regards to women, some like facial hair some don’t. Just do what makes you happy!
