Remove your Norweld Canopy in under 10 minutes (3 simple steps!)

We took the opportunity to film our Norweld canopy removal before hitting a couple of 4x4 tracks tray only. Thanks to the simple design of the canopy and jack legs supplied, it takes all of 10 minutes and 3 simple steps if you have the correct tools at home.
1. Unbolt your canopy
You'll need a 17mm socket and spanner - 3 bolts either side of your canopy underneath the flooring. Make sure you hold onto all components. we recommend dropping the bolts back into the holes once removed for safe keeping.
2. Unplug all wiring
If you've opted for a wiring package, you'll need to remove all connections to your power. Don't forget to unplug any other after market accessories you may have installed to your vehicle e.g. additional solar panels.
3. Install jack legs, wind up canopy, drive away!
Insert your jack legs into the allocated slots in the canopy. Ensure the wind off mechanism is outward facing from your canopy so that you still have access to open and close your canopy doors while it's removed. Wind up the jack legs and ensure the canopy removal is slow and progressive. You want to rotate through each leg evenly until there is enough clearance to drive out!

Would you believe yours is one of the only videos on the net showing how to do this, I don’t think Norweld have ever made one. The leg stability has always annoyed me since I also do this but my dilemma was solved by making a custom table to store it on. I’ve scraped and scratched a few things along the way so the little tips you have might help someone else. I also put weight in the rear drawer, let down the back tyres and take the tray side bolts off.

I just tried to remove my norweld. Holy cow, the one location hole is actually such a bad idea extremely unstable. Speaking from experience of using the traditional 2 locating holes per leg. The legs SHS on the norweld that slots in has enough play that the feet can move back or forward 200mm! Little bit disappointed as i wish to use this often at campgrounds.

Yeah mate they do move a bit. Never had an issue without setup and always wind it all the way down for ease of use when off the car. Can also diagonally strap them if necessary.

I’ve got 700 kg constant load springs on a Pedders GVM upgrade with a Norweld full time canopy. What suspension do you run to suit canopy on or off?

We've got 1000kg constants on BP51s, we went for the larger setup as we run the canopy packed majority of the time. I'd be interested to see how the new ARB parabolics go.
