@@F15H1N9_Fanatic imo the main criticism against snake owners are that the snake itself seems like it's basically just a psychopath and that they often feed their pets live animals, which seems like glorified torture to me.

And because they're not traditionally kept as pets (Same with zoo animals and wildlife rescues), many peoples still thought that they'll be happier in the wild, their 'natural habitat'. No matter if they're truly caught from wild or breed in captivity with the same survival ability as a city folk being dumped in Amazon rainforest.

Tweezers work just fine as long as you get the head out. They live in FL I’m sure they’ve tweezed plenty of ticks in their time. My heart is breaking for this baby. I’m from western WA. We didn’t used to have ticks but I found a big fully fed tick on my dog when she hadn’t left my yard in 5 days. The max they feed is 72 hours. So they are moving into areas they weren’t common in before. Super gross. 😞

If you are going to use tweezers then you need to pull gently until they release themselves, or slide out so as not to leave any pieces inside the animal that can form a nasty cyst or worse create a wound that wont heal.

Good comment. I've had such a change of heart and mind about snakes and reptiles. I began watching Clint's reptiles a year-and-a-half ago and from there I've gone to every reptile Channel I think is out there. That's probably not true because there's Millions. My point is I am now in love with monitor lizards. I've always liked snakes but now I understand more about them. I even watch tarantulas being fed and I'm scared to death of spiders. I've just had such a new awareness and an opening of my mind and heart to these animals. . I would never kill one but I also would never buy one. And I wish I could afford a monitor. An Acky (?)Monitor and a black-and-white Tegu and I'd be happy.

@DANIEL CHUKWUKERE Of all the people I know who got Lymes, only one could even find the tick. 🥺 Now that scares me.

I live in North Carolina and saw someone dumping their leopard geckos because the didn’t want it and said “they will survive like the wild ones” you mean the ones in Iraq? And other places like that? Not a cold, rainy place like North Carolina :/

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I honestly didn’t know that snakes could even get ticks until I watch this video. You always imagine them as being creatures that just hide between fur or spikes as they drain the blood of their victims. Not creatures that live on the surface of shiny scaled creatures where anything could see them and rip them off. I guess they are just opportunists no matter what and just don’t think about hiding themselves but just getting to the blood supply. Thank you so much chaps for helping this poor snake.
