Removing a 4L60E transmission from a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer 2WD

Back on my daughter's Trailblazer. Her transmission went out a couple weeks ago. Like just quit. No gears at all. Might be a pump, might be totally trashed. Not sure. So we'll get this thing out and take a look.
This would be the same for a GMC Envoy or Buick Rainier from the same time period. Even a 2WD Tahoe/Yukon or Silverado/Sierra 1500 pickup would be pretty much the same process.

How did you get the trans to drop down that far? I took the trans support off and it only dropped an inch.

There was an exhaust hanger that attached to the tail piece I had to remove. In my case I had to remove that section of exhaust but I think there's a comment here somewhere that I didn't need to do that. But maybe that's the issue for you?

Hello trying to see will a 2004 chevy trailblazer 4l60. Work in a 1998 chevy Silverado both are v6 2wd?

I'm not positive, but I don't think so...at least not out of the box. In 98 they had the 2-piece bell housing like the 04, but there are differences in size and bolt pattern for both the bell housing and the tail housing (I think the newer generation's are larger/longer). It's possible that you could swap those out and make it work? That's above my pay grade though. Maybe someone else out here has a better answer? There's a bunch of those trucks that someone wrapped around a tree somewhere, I'd probably just find one from another late 90s pickup instead of trying to hack that one together. But that's me.
